How to make a Royals theme team

Some cards were limited-time/limited-supply release. As collections such as Griffey required more and more cards, the limited ones rise in price it regardless of their OVR.

Looking at the Royals, Greg holland appears to be the only Royal on the market that’s an 89.
He was a 5th inning henchman. He’s going to stay expensive until the 11th inning drops.

Are you looking for guys in Royals uniforms only, or anyone who has played with the Royals?
Team Affinity 1, 3 and 5 will get you 3 different versions of Salvador Perez including his 99 Finest which is the best. His Home run derby card is also quite good and only 5k on the market.
TA 4 will get you Bret Saberhagen
TA2 will get you Johnny Damon (he also has a evolution Player Program for his 96 but it has him as a Red Sox player).
Whit Merrifield has a free Player Program
Bobby Witt Jr. Is an underrated ss, great contact and speed, he's about 60k on the market from a late headliner pack
George Brett was a Boss and should be free in next months forever inning with boss rewind packs.
Joakim Soria is pretty cheap on the market, so is Eric Hosmer.

I did some digging and found that I actually have a few. I have the Holland, Davis, Saberhagen, Damon, Hosmer, and one of the Perez's lol. I went ahead and bought Witt Jr. with some stubs I had as well.
But, I still need Lacy, Brett, Grienke, Soria etc. I'm guessing that the prices of these will drop if I'm interpreting you all correctly?
(I also don't really mind if they're in Royals uniform or not for their card. If there are some that aren't feel free if anyone wants to share and I'll definitely consider them. I can't keep track of all the cards in this game lol).

Brett and Soria yes. Greinke and Lacy were event rewards and aren't likely to drop in price

World Series program Jorge Soler. He will be the best Royal card and he is free

I went to check the prices on some cards and I don't understand why there are 89's worth 200K+ right now. If someone could explain that to me that'd be great.
Also, just how should I go about doing this. What should I play, focus on etc.

You can also get Moustakis Topps Now for pretty cheap or by completing Topps moments as well as Lorenzo Cain Finest Flashback for cheap or free next inning as he was an inning classic.
I agree with the above, Brett is a stud and Soler (how did I forget Soler) is one of the best cards in the game.
