Griffey and didn't even have to think about it! Who was the other option? 😉

    Griffey....Trout...wait, Griffey. No, Trout

    Pujols

I know you’re a Pujols fan, but let’s not start talking crazy!
I’m just messing around with you. The card looks awesome. I think they must have gave him a defense boost though, not that I have anything against it.

I get that Griffey and Trout play(ed) a much more demanding position but Pujols has 2 gold gloves and was no slouch defensively.

Offensively: it's hard to compare against Trout because Trout has only played 9 years though I would bet that many of Pujols' numbers were higher than Trout's for his first 9 years. There is no denying that Trout has dominated this game in his decade but Pujols' first decade was pretty insane too.

    As for Griffey:

    Here's how they match up:

    Griffey: Pujols:
    Home runs: 630. 679
    RBIs: 1,836. 2,150
    Hits: 2,781. 3,301
    Runs: 1,662. 1,872
    Avg.: .284. .297
    OBP: .370. .375
    0PS: .907. .919
    WAR: 83.8. 99.6

World Series championships: Griffey and Trout combined: 0, Pujols : 2

I'd say I'm pretty sane. Griffey can definitely roam my outfield and in 8 years, I may crown Trout the king if he keeps up this pace. But for now, give Pujols in his prime the stick every day.

All those stats are fake and stupid ... seriously who care about batting average and homeruns when you can flip your cap backwards and hit with this divine godly to much suave swag of a swing ??? YOU ARE A LIAR AND I WILL SAY THIS : for real nice work ! Hahaha

    Um......what?

Call me crazy but i find it extremely laughable people are considering Trout a GOAT or even top 10 of all time. Outfielders MAYBE creeping into the conversation….but overall as a player he has a longgggg way to go and sure as hell needs to stay healthy

I agree that’s he might not be top 10 yet but what he’s done in a short amount of time is really impressive.

Yeah. I agree. He needs more gsmes under his belt first. I think that’s always the case with all sports though. People always want someone to be the next great. Like Lebron and Kobe when they were still young being compared to Jordan. It’s like can’t they just be good in their own right and not have to compete with who was great. Just enjoy their talents for what they are.

Yep....you nailed it. Trout is incredible. But we have no idea what the future holds. This year was pretty sobering as a reminder that the body breaks down after a decade of baseball. Look at Griffey. Look at Miggy and Pujols. The first decade of all their careers had them on a trajectory to hit 800 Home Runs and be the GOAT. Unless you are Bonds and juicing, you don't get better as you age. If Trout has 5 or 6 more dominant years, then we can have the top 10 conversation.

Griffey career was killed by some bad injuries! If he didn't get injured he would had broken All time HR record !

I have had Griffey a touch longer than Trout so my review might be biased. Trout for me is either a rope base hit through the hole between SS and 3rd, a fly ball out to the warning track or a bomb to Center. Mostly flyball outs however, it is probably user error. Also despite the speed, Trout can not steal a base. I guess I like Griffey's swing better. He seems to have power to all fields. He drives up and away pitches to the left center gap with no issues. Ive also had better success stealing with Jr than Trout despite the speed disparity.
