Decent chance Trevor Story going to the Rangers.
I would love to see him go there and build around Him, Lowe, Garcia and Semien. Kershaw would be a solid addition to help that staff as well. Do they have loads of all the sudden?
I grew up in in Ft Worth, TX and lucky enough to see several early 90s Rangers' games. (A's with Mcgwire, Conseco and Henderson; White Sox with Thomas and Ventura but sadly not THAT Ventura game, etc.)
I'd love to the Rangers bounce back from almost zero.
Hey a decade ago they won back to back pennants. They arent too far removed from success.
True story, that was an awesome lineup. Not sure how the Cards won that one...cough... David Freese is God, thank you Jesus for sending us David Freese...cough. The Rangers had the better team.
Lol, I was a "secondary" Ranger fan at that time. I had just moved to the DFW a few years earlier and the Astros were still in the NL and rebuilding. So I was rootting the Rangers along. We got to watch any of the playoffs games at the local movie theatre for free. Was fun times. And yes, watching the Cardinals do that to the Rangers brought back nightmares of the way they treated the Astros in the early 2000's.

Oh I bet. Yeah, those Cards v. Astros series in the 2000s were so epic. In 2004, that series was so overshadowed by the Red Sox crazy comeback but l always remember Jeff Kent hitting the walkoff and then Edmonds doing it again in game 6.
Even though Pujols had his classic Brad Lidge moment, you guys definitely had our number in 2005. I miss that rivalry. What a team the Astros group was.

Tigers have a better chance than the Rangers. Very weak division.
-
Let's Go! Getting a little worried there for a minute it was all talk about spending money but they're walking the talk. Giggity
Does show how this game warps your thinking, am I more excited about the actual player or that'll be a diamond rated Ranger player -
All I know is if the tigers get Baez or worse instead of going all in on Correa or Story I will be a very unhappy camper.
-
Mets are close to signing Scherzer to a multi year deal.
-
Not final yet but looking like 3 years 130 million for Scherzer

Yeah, Correa is definitely the right move for you guys. I was hoping the Cards would try to reunite Arenado and Story but have heard nothing and truthfully they should be going after pitching.
Will be interesting to see where the pieces land now that Semien has set the bar. Correa will pass him, will any of the others?

It may actually have been the Wander Franco signing that set the bar this offseason. If Semien can get 7 years then Correa has to be thinking 8/9 years at over 200 million and where does that leave Seager? Can the Yankees afford to spend that much or close to that on him?

Oh yeah, good call with Wander! Are you a Yankees fan? I feel like a Seager bros reunion in NY would be great and I'm sure Kyle will land in NY with that short porch lefty swing.

Yeah, so far he Cardinals management seem content to give DeJong the shot to keep his job. Plus they could think about bringing Gorman up to play second and shifting Edman to SS.
I'd love to see another pitching signing. Seems like relying on the like of Mikolas, who has pitched less than 50 inning in the last two years, is risky at best. Plus you have Flaherty coming off an injury season.
If the offense can be more consistent, even with dejong in the lineup, then pitching is where help is needed.

No, but it seems like the logical destination. I'm a Cubs fan actually. I was hoping for Correa to go to Chicago but that seems very unlikely now

Oh man, I'm sorry. Im kidding. The Cubs own possibly the greatest world series win of all time (as much as I'd like to think it was our 2011, that doesn't compare to 2016).
I think the Cubs are going to rebound pretty quickly and be back in the mix by 2023.
My Grandpa was from Brooklyn, my grandma was from Chicago, my mom was from St. Louis.
I grew up in a very divided NL house but secretly liked the Cubs for my Grandma. But my mom fed me so I had no choice but to follow the Cards.Breaking news-
Max Scherzer to the Mets (3 years)
Robbie Ray to the Mariners (5 years )

Wow, that's a stunning contract. Texas is all in apparently.

Meanwhile Oriole’s fans are thankful for football season.
