After I made world series a couple months ago I stopped playing ranked for a while so I went down to all-star difficulty. I just played my first game on hall of fame since they updated the pci movement and WOW. That was the most painfully boring experience of my life. Literally both pitchers had perfect games through 9 innings before I got disconnected. It's impossible to get good pci placement cause it moves so much. I will do everything in my power to never play another game above all star if this is how the game plays at hall of Fame and up.

Other than the Icon and banner; why bother trying to make WS when all you have to do is win 30 games and you get the same reward.

Cause I don't have the time or desire to play 30 games in a season. I've played 89 games the entire year.

Makes sense. Wasn't particularly asking you. Just making an observation. For someone like me, who would never make WS; I'd have a better chance of hitting 30 wins. That's the statement I was trying to make. If someone can't handle higher difficulties; it may be easier to just get 30 wins.

Man, your post is 100% on point. That PCI patch to "cover the corners" has made it so sensitive that it is truly awful to try and be precise now when playing the higher levels.....as usual, try to fix something, they break 2 other things in the process so the gameplay conitnually goes backwards as they made their "adjustments" with patches

Thirty wins is still a pretty significant accomplishment for the weaker players that the change is designed to help. I still haven't made world series yet this year because it would take at least 60 or 70 games for me to get there and I don't have anywhere near enough free time for that. I feel like a lot of the players who are pretty good online are completely out of touch with what the experience is like for the ones who aren't.

As far as the PCI change, I almost never play on any difficulty above all star but I honestly haven't noticed a difference. My hitting is about the same now as it was before.

It takes a while to use to HOF again, I had that same philosophy of not playing on anything above all star a month ago, but after a while it came back again. Some games on HOF are like that. Pitching is just really good this year. I wouldnt give up on HOF if I were you.

actually the PCI update did mess up with the sensitivity meaning it's much more difficult to hit on HOF and Legend

depends on the person, I've hit better this season since the update. I also play a majority of my games on a really high sensitivity. If anything i feel like its easier on HOF to make contact on al the dots you see every game.

I played a bunch of games on HOF and some on legend before the update, and could hit decently. Not one of them felt like this one. I don't play a lot of ranked and there's a million things I'd rather do than try and get good at hitting with a slip-n-slide pci while every game goes into extras tied 0-0. What a boring experience.

I mean, isnt HOF/Legend suppose to be hard? You took a break, sometimes taking a break you lose a step. Plus the player pool later in the year is usaully people who know what they are doing, so games can be harder.

Yes but it shouldn't be "both pitchers throw perfect games" hard. Plus the update in which they unintentionally made hitting harder. Pitching is just way too OP this year imo. They need to make pitching harder as the difficulty goes up too, not just hitting

It takes a few games to get used to it. It’s not that bad. Can’t just drop in from playing all star slow pitch softball with a tennis racket and expect to be great.

The real issue though is the connections influencing pitch speeds and timing windows. I can score double digit runs with 18 hits and then the next game can’t touch the ball in World Series games.

Well I can touch it, but to time it up and hit it fair is another story.

It is hard to get that practice unless you just play tons of ranked. If you play BR or Events you are stuck at All Star with no choice. Then with RS getting reset every season you get bumped down...sure if you play enough and get high enough you don't fall as much, but that goes back to having to play a lot of ranked. The gap between AS and HOF is probably not as big as it seems, but it feels like it because you really can't get that practice anywhere but in Ranked. Playing offline on Legend is not anything like facing a human at HOF.

That's true, problem is I don't play that much ranked and I don't wanna waste my time playing several mind numbingly boring games getting used to the new pci. It's a conundrum cause I'm better than most people at the all star level so I always end up winning my way to hall of fame and up, even though I don't wanna play there

I think HOF and Legend play similar. All-Star is a major step down difficulty wise. I can jump between legend and HOF pretty easily. You start at 700 which is HOF.

I actually love HOF difficulty. Seems like a great balance of timing windows, pci and pitch speed. It’s too bad it only lives in the 700-800 range of RS.
