With the huge amount of content we've received over the last week or so, we have a ton of new options to use in our rotations. I know, personally, I've got designs on replacing at least three, maybe even four of my starting pitchers on my main squad.
I'd have to think that the new BR Jake Arrieta is among the top-5 best starting pitchers in the game but other new cards like Clayton Kershaw, Pedro Martinez, Greg Maddux, Walter Johnson, Max Scherzer, Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, and Nate Pearson among others aren't as clear. So where are you guys at with your rotation?
Prior to TA4, my rotation was...
SP1 - Jacob deGrom ('21 All-Star)
SP2 - Shohei Ohtani ('21 All-Star)
SP3 - Nolan Ryan (Milestones)
SP4 - Vida Blue (Milestones)
SP5 - Al Leiter (Milestones)I just picked up Jake Arrieta and I've taken a liking to some of the newer cards alfeady, too. I'm thinking after I get TA4 done and unlock Kershaw, my rotation will look like this...
SP1 - Jake Arrieta (Milestones)
SP2 - Clayton Kershaw (Signature Series)
SP3 - Greg Maddux (Milestones)
SP4 - Jacob deGrom ('21 All-Star)
SP5 - Nate Pearson (Future Stars)For right now, I'm going to stick with Leiter until I get Kershaw.
I locked in Pearson for Kershaw…figured I’d spend 30 K more for a card I might use. He hasn’t fared well in RS, but I do appreciate that he pitches from the stretch.
That was my exact thought process, too. Considering I wasn't able to ever get him in the Extreme program last year, I figured what the heck? Why not spend a bit more to try him out.

DeGrom
Felix
Leiter
Lee
KershawMaddux
I want to buy Verlander since he is the toughest to face IMO but it’s kind of a waste since I only have five spots.Shohei is out unfortunately….but good riddance. His breaking pitches are too slow.
It's a good thing you don't have to field only one team. I'll never quite understand the appeal of one god squad to rule them all. There are so many great options, only pitching the same 5 guys would be like only eating Vanilla and Chocolate. Give strawberry cheesecake and cookie dough a try.

deGrom
Cabrera
Lefty
Verlander
Feller -
Alright, you guys have convinced me that I need Verlander, too. So my rotation will be:
Justin Verlander (Milestones)
Clayton Kershaw (Signature)
Jake Arrieta (Milestones)
Greg Maddux (Milestones)...and for the final spot I think I'll rotate Al Leiter, Nolan Ryan, Vida Blue, and Jacob deGrom.
-
Verlander is number one right now and I don't think it's particularly close.
deGrom is good if you know how to pitch with him--he's also much better on higher difficulties in my opinion. I think he's the second best.
Ohtani is number three. Good pitching and otherworldly hitting for a pitcher just means he can't be left out.
Nolan Ryan is comfortably fourth for me. Outlier is really nice at high levels online and this is one of his best cards ever in my opinion.
In a vacuum, I think Lefty Grove is fourth or fifth best. That being said, I've found a lot of people to be running pretty right handed heavy lineups in this meta or players like Chipper who crush lefties, so I haven't been using him much and have opted for trying newer pitchers like Johnson/Feller/Gibson. I don't think they're nearly as good, but mixing it up can be nice. With the exception of Shohei and his wonderboy, I greatly favor outlier pitchers.

Nolan
Verlander
Mad Max
Kershaw
Peralta/Feller/Grove rotate #5 spot but Peralta is my favorite -

-

P5 Jim Palmer
P5 Shohei Ohtani

Cabrera left a long time ago but my Degrom still has a great W/L record in RS and low 2 era. Why would I take him out? Sorry you can't hit him but that is on you and not the person using him. I personally struggle the most against Josh Hader out of the pen but I'm not mad someone used them.

verlander
nolan ryan
degrom
kershaw
pearson
feller
al leiter
vida bluethose are the only pitchers i trust...

All the new TA4 pitchers suck. None of them have above 100 H/9 so their PCI is large. TA 3 Pitchers have better stats go figure...

It is a little weird that the TA4 hitters are through the moon 100-125 contact and power against L and R but the pitchers are human.
My guess is, so many people are complaining about how hard it is to hit that they balanced the scales a bit.
I still love some of the TA4 pitchers and have had plenty of success with them, just not like the deadly TA3 pitchers like Degrom, Hader, Kimbrel, Reyes, Hendricks, Rodon etc.

I actually agree with you. They know they [censored] up giving pitchers 120+ H/9 thats why all the TA 4 are near the 100 mark.

Totally, which is a bummer because guys like Seaver, Maddux and Gibson should be the elite and not Cabrera haha. But they are still super fun to pitch with. I also think that's why these Topps moments cards are roided through the roof. The TA4 players too, although it's deserving for Frank Thomas and Mickey Mantle.

I feel like Bob Gibson is slightly underated, I've pitched 3 games with him and all were quality starts.

My rotation is always changing. I will say though I’m really liking Walter Johnson. Just picked up Pearson so I am going to try him out. Just pitched a game with Feller and although I like his mix, his windup drives me nuts lol.
-
@Baracesilk_PSN no one uses hader out the pin as much as you see degrom, he’s clearly op the man throws 102 ans 85 mph slider and it’s not even like people throw dots to hit, I can hit its hard to hit when they throwing it out the strike zone with his pitches, like you got the best pitcher in the game but scared to throw strikes Thsts clown [censored], you’ll never see me throw consistently out the strike zone, cuz that ain’t pitching especially with degrom gtfoh with that [censored], people are so weak in this game that’s why they use him
