Yep. I've said it before it's been a sloppy year for SDS content wise. Just because the cards are good & the content is free doesn't mean it comes without flaws or criticism
There is no reason whatsoever, for Asa Lacy, to have a higher H/9 than Maddux, Pedro, milestone Scherzer, Seaver, among others..... There's no way around it, it's downright stupid. Takes 0 brainpower to understand that your playerbase is obsessed with H/9, so you don't do a disservice to these all-time greats by making their H/9 worse than players they should be considerably better than
They should own up to this mistake & buff some of the TA4 cards. They won't nerf the no hitter cards since they're on the open market, and could tank their value, screwing people over in the process
No 99 Pedro or Maddux should ever come with an H/9 lower than 110
That would be SDCS
Has no business being a collection reward. BR reward, WS reward, sure. Even a late inning program boss. But they dropped the ball here. Totally passing on this seeing how you can do these big collections without having every prior collection reward. At least up to this point that's been the case
Bit of a sloppy year for SDS when it comes to content. It's still decent overall, but, just sloppy. It's like they have no roadmap planned out, just keep picking names out of a hat while saying 'F it, as long as we juice the cards, they'll eat it up'
Don't get me involved in this. People who try their hardest to convince people that Jeter was some average scrub, are the most pathetic, clueless fans in Baseball. To think otherwise, means you are Wrong. That's all that there is to it
Should be LF: Ruth CF: Mantle RF: Judge 1B: Gehrig 2B: Soriano SS: CAP Jeter 3B: Mattingly C : Posada
Bench: Giambi, Sheffield, Sanchez, LeMahieu, Reggie. (96 Stanton or Damon, also Boggs or Ricky Henderson if you prefer)
Bullpen: Mo, Goose, Chapman, Betances, Britton, TN Chad Green, maybe diamond O'Day, then filler. Edit: there's also 98 Andrew Miller, Prime David Robertson, & PS Tommy Kahnle
Rotation: 99 Finest Cole (who I'm anticipating to return), 93 Whitey, 97 Leiter, Kluber, & 93 El Duque. 95 Luis Gil as an HM. I include Leiter since he began his career in Pinstripes (came up through the farm), finished his career as a Yank, as well as all those years as a Met, very much a NY baseball figure, so screw it
Forgot about Ron Guidry too. He had a 99 card in 19, maybe if they brought that back
Dude me. I've had the game for 8-9 days. I completed the NL West a few days ago, then yesterday I finished the NL with 280k left over. Now today, I'm already back up to 778k. Made a killing yesterday. Only $$ spent on this game was buying the deluxe edtion
Waiting for the next market crash to have Trout/Chipper/Ortiz join the squad
I've thrown 9 inn perfect games online before. It only happens against people who are Awful..... There isn't much to be proud of, I can tell you that much
It's worth it. For years (going back to like 2008-9) I played on a 22 inch flat screen with Game Mode on. Was a great TV that had great response time. I've always been good at FPS's & I believe for many years this TV was giving me an edge in that regard. I also eventually got a 60' TV, but even with game mode on, my 22' was significantly better in response time. So for years, I was stubborn, thinking my 22' was already so good, that I don't need a monitor
Then I got 1ms response time monitor like 5 months ago. It's a noticeable difference. It's just better, clearly. It's not HUGE, but the difference is there. If you play games where response time matters, just get one. There's no reason not to. You can get a good monitor for 150$ or less
Definitely save stubs & flip / buy players off the market. Put all your stubs towards the most expensive players first, according to whichever League you'd prefer to finish first. If you're totally committed to the LS you might as well finish the league that's easiest for you to finish. Probably the AL since you have Trout. Might as well get your hands on Ortiz, Goose, Posada, Tanana ect & start paralleling. I personally did the NL first because I knew Finley, Soriano, Banks & Gagne are cards I'll use for a long time. Either way, getting to that 'halfway' point & getting some good cards helps keep you motivated
Sell pretty much every single duplicate card you have, get all the stubs sitting around in your collection. Don't buy packs. Only open free packs. The free packs will help you fill the holes in collections while you're putting together the stubs needed for the Diamonds. The expensive diamonds will either remain or get more expensive over time. The cheaper diamonds will slowly get cheaper (barring any attribute upgrades). So it comes down to if you want to do A.) 1 league first, or B.) both at the same time. Always get the expensive cards first unless you have enough stubs that it doesn't really matter. Especially with a stub sale looming
Regardless of A or B, try to buy ALL the cards through sale orders. Save as many stubs as you can while completing. There's no rush and the sales go through quickly. Especially if you grind on the day of Content drops, when the market crashes a bit & moves really quickly.
Don't ever leave yourself broke though. Always trying to have at least 100k around to be aggressive on the market, to build yourself back up
Definitely Lee, followed by Oswalt & that Sanchez card. Can't wait to parallel Sanchez. Picked up Bichette, gonna see how his bat plays. He was super clutch off the bench for me back in 17. That's probably where he'll end back up
Also Thome is a beast so far while grinding showdowns. Haven't grabbed his card yet but [censored] that's an awesome card to get for free

His gold has the same H/9, with 99 break on his Slurve/Slider/& Knucklecurve. All 3. So if I'm gonna use a Betances card this year, it'll have to be the gold. Unless he gets a 99, which he totally deserves, but probably isn't getting Break doesn’t mean much to a good hitter in this game. His gold has a very hittable fastball and the fastball on his prime I’m pretty sure has outlier. This years game is all about fastball velocities and even a 97-98 mph fastball is hittable without that outlier quirk. In fact you’re doing most of us a favor if you’re using big breaking curves and sliders with pitchers who have outlier fastballs. Maybe your too hung up on those attributes. I'm not hung up on anything. I'm using a gold card over a diamond first of all. Don't even get me started about how pitches in this game have no break, pitches are the least deceptive they've ever been (unless it was already like this in 20). It's one of the biggest reasons this game sucks. It's why outlier / sinker cutter as a meta is the strictest it's ever been. I just wanted to answer the guy above. That gold Betances sits on 99 & regularly touches 100. He's easily the better of 2 of you feel like using his card in a pinch. The prime doesn't have outlier Never mind you’ve played a grand total of 32 online games. Your argument is null and void. I can make a common pitcher look good against the CPU. When you post in a thread it might help to point out that your experiences are based on offline play!!! Where your break attributes actually matter. I've played thousands of online games of The Show over the years, online on this game blows, I can play however much of whatever I feel like. Mo Goose Chapman Miller Hader Reyes Richards D. Williams/ gold Betances
It's about to be Sheffield
DeGrom Verlander Gibson P5 Kluber Wood, trying him out over Ohtani
Felix/Seaver/Leiter/Feller/Buehler are some other cards I would use
In 19 I ran Giambi at 1B, Frank off the bench. Whenever someone would bring in a lefty for Giambi, I'd pinch hit Frank. Even in early innings (3-5) if I felt the moment was big enough
Frank would make them pay. Wayyy more often than not. It's a great way to get a lot of positive AB's with him, and even log a lot of innings with him overall
I was at 3.8 mill, I'll be joining the 5 mill club once the rest of this stuff sells. In fact I'm pretty sure I have to start stashing stubs. What happens if you're at 5 mill & try to sell something? does the sale get cancelled with the item returning to your inventory? I genuinely have no idea
Plan on getting Kershaw after finishing TA4, there's no rush
