With the huge amount of content we've received over the last week or so, we have a ton of new options to use in our rotations. I know, personally, I've got designs on replacing at least three, maybe even four of my starting pitchers on my main squad.

I'd have to think that the new BR Jake Arrieta is among the top-5 best starting pitchers in the game but other new cards like Clayton Kershaw, Pedro Martinez, Greg Maddux, Walter Johnson, Max Scherzer, Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, and Nate Pearson among others aren't as clear. So where are you guys at with your rotation?

Prior to TA4, my rotation was...

    SP1 - Jacob deGrom ('21 All-Star)
    SP2 - Shohei Ohtani ('21 All-Star)
    SP3 - Nolan Ryan (Milestones)
    SP4 - Vida Blue (Milestones)
    SP5 - Al Leiter (Milestones)

I just picked up Jake Arrieta and I've taken a liking to some of the newer cards alfeady, too. I'm thinking after I get TA4 done and unlock Kershaw, my rotation will look like this...

    SP1 - Jake Arrieta (Milestones)
SP2 - Clayton Kershaw (Signature Series)
    SP3 - Greg Maddux (Milestones)
    SP4 - Jacob deGrom ('21 All-Star)
SP5 - Nate Pearson (Future Stars)

For right now, I'm going to stick with Leiter until I get Kershaw.

    Hernandez (Milestone)
    Verlander (Milestone)
    Feller (Milestone)
    Pearson (Future stars)
    Seaver (Milestone)

    It could easily be

    Maddux (Milestone)
    Gibson (Milestone)
    Grove (Awards)
    DeGrom (All Star)
    Vida Blue (Milestone)
    Scherzer (Milestone)
    Or even Kershaw (Signiture)

Pitching is very deep this year.

I had my first start with Kershaw yesterday on HOF against a decent opponent (he was 87-30) and was pleasantly surprised. Gave up 5 hits in 7.1 innings striking out 9 batters. Currently running

    Verlander
    DeGrom
    Kershaw
    Ryan
    Feller

Whoever gets knocked around next is gonna be replaced with Maddux I think

I locked in Pearson for Kershaw…figured I’d spend 30 K more for a card I might use. He hasn’t fared well in RS, but I do appreciate that he pitches from the stretch.

Maddux is filthy. His cutter has insane movement as does his sinker. Couple that with a slow circle change, balloon curveball and a sneaky 4seam…I highly recommend

I want to buy Verlander since he is the toughest to face IMO but it’s kind of a waste since I only have five spots.

Shohei is out unfortunately….but good riddance. His breaking pitches are too slow.

    Mine is currently:

    ASG degrom
ASG Freddy Peralta (I'm a Brewers fan)
    Felix
    Pedro
    Scherzer

I don't play much online and I don't like using old timers. I am close to getting Verlander so he will slide in there too.

    Nolan Ryan
    Walter Johnson
    Jacob DeGrom
    Robby Ray
    Shohei Ohtani

I've been busy and haven't had time to earn Scherzer yet. I'll probably put him in there somewhere when I do.

I’m gonna give Ray a shot. You run him in RS at all?

Yeah I’m not surprised. I use his gold in events and he still does well lol

That was my exact thought process, too. Considering I wasn't able to ever get him in the Extreme program last year, I figured what the heck? Why not spend a bit more to try him out.

It's a good thing you don't have to field only one team. I'll never quite understand the appeal of one god squad to rule them all. There are so many great options, only pitching the same 5 guys would be like only eating Vanilla and Chocolate. Give strawberry cheesecake and cookie dough a try.

Alright, you guys have convinced me that I need Verlander, too. So my rotation will be:

    Justin Verlander (Milestones)
    Clayton Kershaw (Signature)
    Jake Arrieta (Milestones)
    Greg Maddux (Milestones)

...and for the final spot I think I'll rotate Al Leiter, Nolan Ryan, Vida Blue, and Jacob deGrom.

Verlander is number one right now and I don't think it's particularly close.

deGrom is good if you know how to pitch with him--he's also much better on higher difficulties in my opinion. I think he's the second best.

Ohtani is number three. Good pitching and otherworldly hitting for a pitcher just means he can't be left out.

Nolan Ryan is comfortably fourth for me. Outlier is really nice at high levels online and this is one of his best cards ever in my opinion.

In a vacuum, I think Lefty Grove is fourth or fifth best. That being said, I've found a lot of people to be running pretty right handed heavy lineups in this meta or players like Chipper who crush lefties, so I haven't been using him much and have opted for trying newer pitchers like Johnson/Feller/Gibson. I don't think they're nearly as good, but mixing it up can be nice. With the exception of Shohei and his wonderboy, I greatly favor outlier pitchers.
