Only reason he is being built up is because him and Lester started all this sinker [censored] a few years ago.
His arsenal is nothing special and his sinker is easy to catch up to on legend. Verlander and DeGrom are much better.

in real life his sinker is nasty. I thought we were gonna get the 9.5 ERA washed up Jake but he's been pretty good for SD. thing has like 14 inches of break on it.

Verlander is incredible, i normally don't like pitching with his cards and i love pitching with this version. If you can get it you absolutely should.

Ya he is good af. His fb and his cutter/slider are both sharp and look like the fb. His circle change is a huge speed change also.

In the right hands he's incredible. What other pitcher has a 92mph wipe out slider that looks like a fastball til the last second? He has three pitches that all look the same til its too late

For sure meant in the game. He is decent but I honestly do think the hype is from years past carrying over. His cutter sinker combo did find its way into a lot of pitchers’ arsenal thanks to SDS wanting to appease the masses.

Sell Jake and get Verlander if you want. You might lose 20 or 30k stubs but I second that Verlander is great. I used Jake in one game on garbage all star and he got shelled. All star is a horrible sample size though. I don't like that his fb and sinker are the same speed.

I’ve watched a few jake debuts, one on legend and one on hof. A no hitter on hof and a 0 run no decision on legend

122 H/9, hard sinker/slider combo, 90+ control on 4/5 pitches, and 97+ break on 4/5 pitches. Sinker with max break and control.
He’ll be good if you actually know how to pitch and don’t just rely solely on outlier to get outs.
