July POTM? Any guesses?

Freddie Freeman. .440 ba 8 hr 22 rbi. + 40 points added to bAtting average
-
I feel like we haven’t had a Cedric Mullins card in a long time; long overdue
-
Hey Matty, I think he does pass the eyeball test.

I think we will see a Freddie Freeman card. Dude raked in July. .400 average so far 4 bombs 3 doubles and has added a whopping 21 points to his average. Only stuck out 8 times in 50 at bats and has also walked 8 times with a OBP of .475 and is slugging over .700. Only has an 87 overall live series. Good candidate for a 94-96 card , not a master card though.
I love myself a FF. His live series has suffered since the start and his hitting isnt as good, but if we see a 99 FF. I dunno. He may make my 1B.
He’s on freakin fire man. .429 avg , .507 on base , now 5 homers 12 rbis and just ended a streak of 35 straight plate appearances without a single swing and miss. Maybe I’m a homer ( Braves fan ) but that’s seems pretty impressive. He could get the lightening

I'd like to think Goldschmidt and Harrison Bader would be in the discussion.
Potential issue with Goldschmidt and Freeman is if either are scheduled to get a boosted card soon. Freeman could get a Signature Series or even an MVP card for last year. Goldschmidt has had a Signature Series before.
In addition to hitting really well with a .338 Avg in July, Bader has been playing amazing defense but I know that won't be taken into account.

How has Soto's defense been bad? He has a .982 fielding percentage. Yeah, maybe thats not great, but what is tatis at? Although i do love tatis, which is why i went to see him at the game saturday, but how is soto bad?
You're not comparing the two? Ok, read above. You wrote it, nobody else.
In defense of Soto, his fielding has been decent this year compared to years past with 4 defensive runs saved and a 9 Rtot.

In further defense of Soto, he’s in like the 94th percentile of Outs Above Average, so, he is a pretty competent fielder. He’s not a speed demon in the outfield, but his defense on his cards are somewhat nerfed.

As a biased cubs fan im hoping Baez gets a card. He's hitting .323, and has a few doubles, home runs, and stolen bases.

He would be one of the lower tier diamonds he won't get a full lightning card

Lol, was replying to a padres fan. Dont know where you came from. Just trying to have a fun conversation. Just curious why he says soto has been bad in the field. You're thoughts big man! Thanks.
Juan Soto isn't a very good fielder...He's not bad, but he's not very good. He's pretty much replacement level, if not slightly below. It just kinda is what it is. He's not paid to be Andruw Jones. He's paid to hit. Hence him being stuck in left field, a traditional spot to hide great hitters with poor defensive skills. Sadly, he's probably having the best defensive year of his career thus far, and still contributing negatively overall.

Oh yeah of course, no way I'm expecting a lightning card for him. But a 93-95 would be fun to use. For me at least lol

I may be a bias yankee fan but LeMahieu has been hot. 34 game on base streak.

Kike Hernandez....
Dude's been tearing the cover off the ball lately.... -

I think the Freddie Freeman 35 straight plate appearances without swinging and missing is a more impressive stat.
-
Freddie Freeman. I doubt he gets lightning, but I bet he gets a mid 90's.

And why do you doubt he gets the lightning card. .440 BA 9 hr 26 rbi since june 20. Top that off with that insane streak of not swinging and missing at a single pitch. + 40 to his batting average. That to me sounds like a POTM candidate by any measure of the word.

Is SDS planning on giving him a signature series? an MVP Card? Sometimes there is more that goes into their decision for POTM than simply the stats. Not saying that he won't get it, just that there are other factors at play.

I’m not saying that this doesn’t factor in, however the post that you replied to was in reference to someone else’s post which made it seem like his stats weren’t POTM caliber based on the tone of the post which seemed a bit dismissive. I pointed to his stats since last month which encompass more than a months timeframe of activity. Either way the lightning POTM is gonna have to go to one of the POTMs whether it’s the AL version or NL version.
-
Yeah Freddie has got to be in there somewhere. He’s raised his average like 80 points in the last month and is going deep fairly often this month

Yeah, anyone who suggests he isn't deserving based on his stats either hates Freeman, the Braves or is selfishly hoping for their own pick to get it.
I would love to see Goldy get an upgraded card since he is only a silver these days but he is unfortunate to get hot the same month Freeman got hotter.
There are 3 Cardinals that should at least be in the discussion although I would be surprised if any of them sneak in.
Kwan Kim - 4-0 for the month with 4 quality starts. ERA of 0.72 and a whip of 0.76.
Goldy - .361 AVG. A 15 game hitting streak to begin the month.
Bader - .338 avg for the month and played some stellar defense.
