what are your thoughts on using cap

title pretty much sums it up. im not mad that people use them since they are in the game, (I never will use one) but I just personally dont see why they are there for ranked games. trying to get the point across that I cant be like mad ppl have chipper bc they used their money for him/ or people have a creative player with 125 across the board and 95 speed but I dont think its place is in online ranked games

I don't care what they use only thing that matters full stop is a good connection one minute your hitting bombs on legend next you get zero runs vs Maddux on hof like i'm seriously very late on a 89 sinker. Honestly makes no difference cap or no to me used it 1 or 2 times myself but don't like it so sold everything off. Pisses me off sub caps but position players don't care ...

That's exactly his place. DD origins trace back to all cap teams. Be thankful there's only one.

I don’t like them either. So many cards to use. I’d rather use real players instead of a juiced freak of nature that is not only the greatest position player of all-time but also the greatest starter and reliever of all-time.
If they found a happy medium where they can be solid players and fill a hole at the beginning of the cycle and slowly be passed by with better players, I wouldn’t mind at all. But they are just way too good this year in my opinion.
Just seems like something a 12 year old or a complete try hard would want in this game. Maybe I’m just more of a fan in general and would actually like to use guys I watch(ed) play.
And I really don’t care what DD was founded on. They have enough diversity with players to choose from now that they aren’t needed.

Yes. People don’t realize that years ago before DD was what it is today we didn’t have all this content. You got live series cards. And you had a live series collection that would net you a former great from that team. Also everyone had a CAP player. The good old days of being trolled with the Joe Random card. Or the original Reggie Stocker meta card

Original dd was all generic created players whom you could rename. If I remember correctly I was banned for giving my players inappropriate Native American slang names but I’m Native American lol

buddy its an arcade style blast - make sure your CAP looks hideous or unique - mine is a 4 foot 10 ogre dwarf named Mike Rotchburns - he rakes at SS though right now i am grinding for the Story 96 to replace

I just did the grind for my CAP and have a switch hitting Griffey with 125 contact, 115 power, 91 speed, 90 fielding, 88 reaction and 88 arm.
I’ve used him like four games and he rips the ball…hit a walk off bomb in a WS game the last time I played with him against Mariano.
Everyone else uses one and it’s fun to mess with the animations, archetype and gear combos.
I used to hate it until u tried it. It’s really fun to mess with and it is fun to have another good player to work with in your lineup.

I wouldn't mind them if you couldn't make a switch hitting prime Barry Bonds that plays shortstop. In 18, 19 and 20 when CAP's were good but not OP it was fine. I don't even care that I am at a disadvantage. I won't use them

Never liked the CAP in DD. I never will.
I'll never use one. There's plenty of cards to choose from. Want a CAP? That's what RTTS is supposed to be for. Not DD.

Cap should only be in RTTS. DD is already a cheese fest

CAP is probably my favorite thing about the game.. always has been. To be able to create a player with my own name and likeness is great for a fantasy team. That's the closest I'll ever get to being on a professional baseball team. I'd rather have my CAP than any other player in the game. Don't you guys get that taken away from me!!

They have a part in the game. People like having a "player" they create. It's one player. It doesn't ruin the game at all. We all have the same opportunity to have the same player. You can't always say that in DD

I didn’t use a CAP LY and got annoyed by how juiced they are but this year Ricky Franchise (aka maxed Hawk) is my lead off hitter because why the f not.

After seeing how insanely good the CAPs could be this year, my thoughts were if you can’t beat em, join em.
I created Jim Lahey at SS and he’s well worth the relatively short amount of time to get him.
Over 115 on all hitting stats, 90+ fielding and arm, 80+ speed and of course switch hitting. Like others said, actually pretty fun to use

When in rome do as the romans. If you’re anti cap then perhaps make a player you like but cannot afford. Like trout but can’t get him got make trout. Like Jeter make a jeter. Like story but can’t afford him make a story. Make their stats close to the actual card at pxp 5 if it makes you feel better.

Im not a fan, but you cant afford to not have one. I would love for them to get rid of them. Or stleast give them attribute caps and not allow pitching caps. 6'10" lefty submarine pitchers throwing 100 mph fastballs with 4 breaking balls is stupid

Never have never will. I made created players in Franchise, thats where they belong. Want to make a player, by all means do it but its not for me. If I wanted to Id play RTTS or Franchise. I play DD for the Legends and Flashbacks.
