R2 spam has to go, it's cheating.

I can understand if you use R2 to see pitch history or to announce that you aren't ready yet by holding it down for a few seconds.
However, I played someone last night in events that would spam R2 on and off in random patterns every single pitch. I use PPP and of course R2 spam ruins the timing. I ended up walking 2 guys and then giving up a grand-slam - then quit.
Just to be clear: I would choose my pitch and immediately see him start spamming the button on and off in random patterns - every pitch.

They simply need to just take off the delay it causes for the pitcher. Look at it, sure. But in your own time.
-
3 R2 presses per inning. You get 3 more if the opponent brings in a new pitcher. After the limit, you can still press to see pitches but it does not delay the pitcher anymore.

Don't they limit the number of pick offs? They can do the same for R2...

The number of pick offs and the number of step offs are limited but R2 or LT for Xbox can be spammed for days.
This is why I can't play online anymore as it's just become so bad every game someone is trying it because they know it messes up PPP. I use meter so I can get around it to some extent but just the amount it adds to the time it takes to play a game.

I think the best fix would be to limit R2, to once per batter for 3-5 seconds and only 1 press/hold. Once you let it go, you can't ask for time again. Problem solved, and you can slow down an AB if you need to
-
In the past I thought you could only use it once before each pitch. Now you can hit it multiple times before a pitch is thrown. That definitely has to go in my opinion since the only reason to do that is to try and screw with someone using pinpoint.

Yeah it’s an easy solution. Limit holding R2 to once per pitch. But SDS doesn’t fix anything this year it seems. It’s been 2 months and we still have the bunt glitch which is crazy
-
Yeah I don’t get how it could be fun for anyone to hold R2 every pitch, also while bunt dancing looking like an absolute clown!
Just play the da** game -
I find it interesting that I always seem to run into the cheesiest players in events where W/L hardly matters at all. I don’t understand it. Maybe because there isn’t rank and you can play anyone at the beginning of a run… idk.

I don't get it...there's an indicator in the box that tells you when they're pressing R2...have you tried waiting till that goes away before you start your motions?

Yes, I think we all have. They can press it again. When using PPP it can be pressed when the shape is being drawn, even if you've already waited for them to stop pressing before starting the pitch selection / shape drawing. It then messes with the accuracy of the pinpoint mechanism. If you 'don't get it' I can only presume you've been quite lucky to face off against online players who don't do this.

on, off, on, off, on.....off, on..... off, on, off, on, off....on.
When should I start?

On a brighter note, I played someone last night who did NOT 1)spam R2 2)bunt dance 3)abuse pause or 4) speed pitch - guess what?? It was a fun game!
-
Just another reason why I don’t play multiplayer. Whether in madden or here... always going to come across people that exploit the game. Usually kids that don’t care. Not hating just facts.
-
If someone R2’s just start stepping off. Or just wait a few seconds after you pick your pitch to start your motion. I find that those things usually get people to stop doing it once they realize it doesn’t work at all
