They only get banned from the forums for a period of time. You have to exploit glitches and such to get a ban from the game I think.

I don't know which awesome word you used, but generally the best advice I can give about this kind of thing is to consider whether or not you would like the word used against you. If you answer no, don't use it. If you answer yes, then you need to make sure you know what it means before you use it. Pretty simple, and then there's no doubt in your mind about what you're doing or who you're affecting.
It was a homophobic slur that he called multiple people in the thread. I think he may have even used it towards SDS too. No matter what he's saying now he obviously knew it was wrong to use it because he went back and edited every single post where he used that word among some other choice words.
I didn't say anything other than I apologize and I am sorry I chose to use a word to express my anger that has real hatred behind it. I am very sorry.
I don’t agree with anything you said, and I don’t think a ban is inappropriate, but I will give you credit for apologizing. Hopefully you can use different words when pissed in the future. When I was in elementary school we threw that word around all the time (didn’t even really know what it meant) haven’t used it in years. Hopefully you have the same experience.

just for reference. He threw a tantrum bc he lost on a walk off grand slam. He posted his opponents gamer tag, called him a homphobic slur, called several people on the forum a homphobic slur, wished death upon someone's family and said he wanted to beat his opponent like his dad should have.
and even after all that and apologizing he tried making multiple excuses and justifications for doing all that

People are piling on. In today's day and age, apologizing and admitting that you messed up, and that you are ashamed and embarrassed just doesnt satisfy certain people. Online, just like Twitter, people like to kick someone while they are down. It makes them feel good.

If they actually apologized and admitted they needed to be better about knowing the actual meaning of a word before throwing it around as an insult I think people would've been more understanding. They gave the typical non-apology basically "I'm sorry you're upset about it" and then made excuses. Big difference between the 2 -
