For $700-800K? Is this reasonable?
-
He's great, but I wouldn't have payed that. I picked him up for about 205k awhile back
-
Better spending those stubs on every game players
-
He did well for me in limited innings but in later innings people pick on him faster than others as the pitches come from an angle in which sideways movement is quicker to detect and as theres not enough difference between his 4 and 2 seamers (so he effectively only has 3 pitches).
I sold him for 715K and got Mays, Lefty Grove and Feller with the stubbs.
-
I love Sale and overpaid at 350k. Can't imagine spending what he costs now. He's good enough that I won't sell him though either. I suppose if I needed the stubs I'd rethink it though.
-
After facing him a few times, I really don't want him at all.
-
I paid 400k for him. he has been my top SP. I'd say I've thrown 15 games with him and hes only been rocked once. I also faced him on legend and man did i look stupid lol. at this point if you have a solid enough roster why not

What do you mean? Position players?

Got it: I currently have most of the best players: Ruth, Wagner, Foxx, Mays, etc. My relief core is the bets relievers, save Miller (for now), so the rotation is where I'm looking to upgrade the most.

He’s obviously not worth that amount, unless you’re just sitting on stubs without anything else to really buy. Can’t take the stubs to 2020 so might as well sell them.
But he is pretty great. Unless you get an opponent who can pick up the slider well. If they can just sit fastball you might get knocked around a little bit

Well, my buy order went through, so too late now lol.

I had him for a while and didn't think he was anything special. I ended up selling him. Wish I had waited haha. But his pitch variety is limited. That slider is great, but it's pretty much fastball, slider, changeup. The changeup and slider are about the same speed too, so the opponent only has to really worry about 2 speeds.

Agreed

I tried to wait till he was under 300k, and it never happened when I had the excess stubs. So I got Ruth instead. Worth it. Even his defense isn’t bad in LF.

Sale is good. But nobody is that good. I mean if you have everyone else you want then whatever. But if there is another player or 2 or 3 you might want to hold off. But then again it’s the end of the cycle...have fun -
