I ended up getting matched against Cbrev on the last day of last season. I was in the low 800s (first time all year) and he was at like 887. he had a no-no on me until the 7th. i finally got a hit with Jr and broke it up. earlier in the game 2 really hard hit balls ended up going right at Jr and he missed them, ended up giving up 2 runs each because of it. He said my Griffey was broken in his YT video.
i ended up quiting only after i broke up the No-no, mainly because i had an hour left till the new season started and i wanted to try to get in one more game (ended up leaving to go pick up my kids). In his YT vid he gave me props for not quiting while in the no-no, and for sticking with it as long as i did. never trashed me in his video, never said i sucked, he said he got lucky on some really hard hit balls by me. i was dreading him posting it because of how awful i played and how he would react. but he was encouraging.
moral of the story...why trash a player? everyone has bad games. it happens. I won 4 in a row this past weekend and have lost 2 since on games i feel i should have won but whatever you go and play again.
i faced a guy who used his LS card in a ranked game. he brought him in, probably thinking that A) good cheap Lefty that throws hard and i could use him, or B)HAHAHAHAHA Wouldn't it be hilarious if i used this card that will get people so mad!
blasted 3 runs off him and he rage quit after the next half inning. Made CS after that game.
moral of the story...don't use that evil person.
I tried to wait till he was under 300k, and it never happened when I had the excess stubs. So I got Ruth instead. Worth it. Even his defense isn’t bad in LF.
this use to be a feature in MVP 2005. If you argued as a manager with the ump you'd get thrown out. all it did was make managing the game option not available (basically you'd choose situations like swing away or work around a hitter or bunt and the game would sim for you based on your selections).

What are you guys doing to each other? I occasionally message opponents, after a win or loss, and they are almost always bracing for the troll or ready to fire back. A few rare instances have ended with someone going crazy in my PMs, but that's not typical. In my experience, most players are pretty chill and accommodating, but are griefers and trolls really that common in The Show?

I turned my PS messenger off because i got tired of randos sending me messages like "thanks for the batting practice" and "oh you shouldnt have been spamming pitches to me loser. CUBS SUCK!"
i'm in my 30s. i'm too old for that nonsense. if i wanted children to scream at me, i'd just hang out with my kids
I am sure people have brought this up, but I really hope SDS makes this change for MLBTS20.
Locked into Tiers in RS as you progress.
We have all complained about All Star Hell on this forum, and that it is a grind just to get out of All Star and get to Division and CS and WS. Now...i'm not a WS player. Most seasons i make it to Division, then get knocked right back to WC where i have made a home for myself all season.
but i have gotten considerably better over the year, this being my first playing DD, and have a 200-16something record i believe. but what gets me is that...when i hit Division, if i lose one game, BAM im knocked down back to all star and i have to keep playing one game win, one game lose, for 3 weeks and end up the season at like 665 or whatever.
if i make it to Division, on HOF...KEEP ME THERE! even if i played 20 games and lost every single one, you would not get put back to spring training, you'd stay in RS level. So why not keep HOF level tiers locked and if you hit division, stay at 700 and not any lower.
the benefit to a player like me is, i can get practice on the higher difficulty, adjust to the pitch speeds, and get better! practice mode and CotW are not good ways to get better at playing online. i'm sorry. not have to constantly struggle to maintain in the 700s and hope I have the skill to keep moving up and stay playing others on HOF.
whats the downside to this? seriously? lets say you have maybe 50% of the casual players able to make DS, more than likely they would stay in the low 700s and not adjust to the pitch speeds, and then just play BR or events or some other mode until the season resets. But if they wanted to keep playing, they'd get game reps, adjust, and ultimately get better. and...oh this will be good for SDS...they'll KEEP PLAYING THE GAME ALL YEAR.
thoughts?
as someone who has both, I personally would go Babe. The reason is, it's so late in the game cycle, and if you know you probably wont make WS before 20 comes out, just buy Babe and you can use him now. Platoon him in LF and then switch him out for ichiro for defense (i play Cody at 1B). Honus is a great leadoff or 7,8 hole hitter, but Babes bat is unreal. 125 on everything with the bat. his defense isnt that bad, unless you get something sharp and can't catch up to it. He's only dropped one ball for me.
Ranked Seasons on AS is a grind...the end.
In the same boat. Then I started a loosing streak last night. Won 2 games earlier but it begins tonight. Just gotta be patient and don’t press. All will be fine. We can do this @Zakk3426

I recently was in a major slump, made it up to around 870ish and then lost something around 10-12 straight games. I came across CBrev’s “3, 3, 3” strategy video. The very first game I used this I came out of my slump and have since made it all the way back almost to WS. Here’s his video if you want to give it a try, I highly suggest it and his other content for that matter. https://youtu.be/eF0QRx1nAm4

I’ve watched all his coaching videos. Seriously they are instrumental in playing the game better. It really is the little things that make good players play the best. Forget just hitting and pitching good. Matchups, how you set your lineup, plate discipline, feedback, all of it.

I bet you didn't. There's your grind OP. Get to it. Team Affinity innings, like XP and program stars, are uninteresting background tasks. 18's missions at least gave more interesting, challenging objectives I could do organically in the course of a game using my DD team. The overwhelming majority of moment don't involve my DD team and even those that do don't count toward TA and daily mission innings because Moments is not DD. In any case, Moments are isolated, inorganic tasks where you're told to do a thing and there's no point in doing anything else. If I failed a single-game mission in 18, there was at least the ability to get progress in other, longer-term missions. I understand the requests for stat missions; it's a reaction to the dearth of offline content by asking for the return of what we had before. I don't agree with just bringing back stat grinds - what I want is a new offline DD mode like a Season mode. I want to be able to slot my DD team into the MLB schedule and try to win the World Series. Give rewards based on difficulty level, with a bonus for using Salary Cap mode where my team is built more like a BR team instead of a god squad. Expanding Conquest doesn't appeal to me at all since the maps don't take long to do and have zero replayability, and even with a new map every day it'd still be nothing but three-inning road games. I agree! I shouldn’t have said bring back stat grinds, instead bring something to be able to grind towards. That’s an interesting idea

would you say the 11 inning program stars for 50 HR with finest players and 50 HR with All Star cards to be similar to what you want? I'm for that, but not for stars. give me cards in a collection for that.
in the same boat. I just made CS and now begins the grind to WS. but i told myself this is the last season before 20 because i want to play other games. I just take a no stress approach to it. i'll lose, i'll win. whatever the game cycle is basically over. i had fun this year. just working to get better before 20 comes out. thats how i'd approach it.
so i just bought him day he was released (i have no desire to play this event). so far i'm hitting above .500 and have hit a homer 4 homers. 2 of which were in the same game. i like him so far. Not a sox fan but always respected Paulie
