What a great positive, upbeat thread. Thanks for doing this GrizzBear. I've been playing the show since 2008 (Franchise mode and only Franchise mode) but in October of 2020 I joined a league and for the first time ever started playing DD (Diamond Dynasty for all you new Xboxers joining us). It's been a huge learning curve for me to get online (I've played with my settings on Beginner the whole time).
So here is my tip - join a league. Find a group of players that will help you be a better player. They're out there. Playing against guys that you chat with on a regular basis is so much better than playing random people. They can give you tips and hints on how to get better. Nod to the Dad's League - you guys are the best! Sure - I'm still the cellar player in the group but I've gotten better and will continue to do so as long as I stick with it.

Haha!! Yeah pretty excited to finally have Baseball back. Bartley Royale is very cool for a level playing field. I love it.

I am so excited to see new players that will be able to knock some of the arrogant players that are on the top leaderboards off of there high horse pedastals! With that being said most of players on leaderboards are good people and legit in there gameplay and will go out of there way to help you.
I've been playing since 2010ish, and thought i would give some tips and tricks suggestions along the way about things that maybe people don't talk about much. Or if you have a specific question about game or what expect feel free to ask!!!
If i don't know the answer there are plenty of seasoned players that can!! U might even get a Developer to respond b/c that is one of the things about this Franchise they take pride in making your experience better and are very active with community. When not busy leaking info or playing with dolls or even a peticular dev who claims Phillies will win every year!
So one tip i will share is setup your gamestyle the way it makes you comfortable! What i mean is if you prefer directional hitting over zone hitting then by all means use directional hitting. Contrary to what some believe there is absolutely no inferior style!!!
So like i said questions or concerns ask away and again welcome to the Community!!!
What can i expect from developer streams prior to launch?
A plethora of information!! There will be you tubers and twitch streamers breaking down the videos afterwards so be sure to check them out! Majority of the time the developers will smack you with something so exciting that maybe u missed something else in regards that could be vital! No problem just rewatch stream over and over! Developers are very good at making that info available to rewatch immediately!!
I totally concur based on my own experience. I tapped into DD in 2019 and never played ultimate anything. I came to this forum just asking for tips. I had guys message me directly, offer to party up, and even walk me through the different components of the game mode.
If you don’t become a better player by communicating with the community, you’ll at the very least be a more knowledgeable one.

Ok explain why it doesn't work? And are you referring to MLB 20 or the tech test? If tech test send me explanation in quick chat and i will see if i can find solution.
Better yet if it has to do with tech test just search to see if already being discussed in tech test forum itself. If you can't find anything about it then start a thread could be something SDS needs to know about.

^ THIS!I use Directional for 2 reasons: 1) It's the most realistic to me. In real batting, batters don't place a PCI icon/cursor, then swing.
2) I still keep dropping my PCI, which is MADDENING!!! That's a reason I am contemplating moving to an XBOX controller where that may not be an issue
I also use Meter pitching. While not as accurate as I'd want, it also feels more natural. With Meter, there IS a way to put a little extra break on pitches. I wish I could explain. It's kind of a 'follow-through.'So, play whichever way you're comfortable with, like the OP said.
Welcome to The Show!My ps4 controller broke last month and there was none in stock close so I ordered a nancon* or whatever they're called. Anyway it was essentially a xbox controller on ps4 and the sticks were asymmetrical and I found it quite hard to use. My thumb constantly slipped off the analog stick because it was concave but I guess easily worked around with KontrolFreaks or similar I guess.

Another did you know moment! Did you know that on very first day of launch SDS gives you little easy challenges so you can unlock rewards in the xp rewards?
Yup that's right! Something simple like collect 5 sponsorships, or 10 minor league stadiums? And instantly recieve rewards!
Now at this point we dont know what rewards will be but every pack has an oppurtunity of pulling a diamond so free pack? Count me in!!!

Yeah i like concept of battle royale but i despise MP 3 inning games so i don't play it.
But i think ranked seasons should have structure like this without the draft of course and lowest card bronze.
So every position isn't a diamond at least for early part of season. Possibly coincide with team affinity phases as year goes and phases. Might actually make tiers below diamond more relavant on market. And actually face some of the lower team affinity rewards more often.

I have only owned a playstaion for MLB the show. Now that it's hit xbox want to say thank you so much. So far love the techtest can't what for the final product. The only complaint i have is that the catchers spot for calling for placement of the ball fades way to quick and homerun animations seem to be kinda dull. Other then that playing on xbox i haven't come across any issues. Love MLB THE SHOW can't wait for the finished product.
