I agree, they should open up more to offline players.
Conversely, they should also do the opposite. Stuff like Lou Gehrig being only obtainable offline, having online ways of acquiring him would be nice too.
Leveling the playing field should go both ways.
Yep. Should be two avenues to all earnable players and also eligible for prestige them offline. I’d say leave BR and RS rewards alone or have them with a offline only player lock if you could earn them offline. ( of course you could still buy them or win them if you want to use them online) I’ve never understood why online only guys get mad when this is requested, like those offline guys will ever play them in RS and not to mention ( no offense) many are bad online.
-
I say this so guys could use Chipper ( ex) in offline modes like conquest etc, so they could use their favorite players . I mean I play both but I don’t want to try to grind RS or BR and I’ve had a buy order in for almost 2 months. If I could earn him to just use offline that would be awesome bc I’d still want to buy him for online play and I would.... it’s a win win

Not sure how hard it would be to put gram and whether it would work; but any program should have the option to play online or offline. Even if you add extra stats offline.
But have it that once you pick online, or offline, you can't get stats from the other.

I still don’t understand why prestige players are relevant to strictly offline gamers. I’ve said this before but is that +3 attributes really needed to battle the cpu?

Some people like to collect all the cards.

Yeah, I get that, but it kinda doesn’t make sense to me if you’re not ever going to use them against an opponent.

This right here is the answer. I like to collect.

Everyone plays the game for different reasons.
That said, I did have a somewhat enjoyable time playing moments this year and I probably wouldn’t have played if not for prestiging. The good thing about prestiging is a lot of people quit because they were trying to boost, so that free win was very nice (I know a lot of people complain about the prestige boosting online, but I take my win and move on).

This is something that I love doing, but it kind of diminished for me this year. I love to chase after getting every card. Now it wasn't the online stats that drove me away because I basically only play online, but there was no way I would have the time to prestige every card, so I would never have the satisfaction of seeing all the cards in my inventory,

The CPU on Rookie / Veteren in conquest etc is not the same if you have a complete bronze lineup and a complete diamond lineup. Remember the first week or so when you started with a pretty crappy lineup and won games like 10-1 etc.... well fill your full lineup with diamonds on same level and you may still get that 10-1 ... the modifier definitely seems to play a role. So 5 prestiged cards with those extra points does help a bit.

So you’re saying prestige cards are relevant because it helps in conquest on rookie and veteran?
I just don’t get that.

There are plenty of dudes who just aren't on thr same level as others. I personally can't hit with zone hitting, I just can't. Inuae directional and it makes the game more enjoyable for ME.
I like getting better cards because the stats matter, and I also need all the help I can get. I understand all the good players use zone, dominate at all levels, etc... but you have to remember there are more of us than there are of them.
While we may not stream, we still play, and we still spend money, at least I do. While you may think it trivial, give me the prestige cards, give me conquest, and some give me some good beers and I'm gonna have a fantastic evening.

Seeing this years edition is unwinding. No new content seems to be in site it would be nice to make prestiging available to people that DO NOT play online due to slow internet etc. This would give players something to do (Grind prestiges and also maybe even finish off affinites while grinding)
Even in 17, when they figured out mid-year to make programs offline completable, they never went back and adjusted the 1st 4 programs to remove the online requirement.
It's. Not. Happening.

You know, I don’t question anybody’s right to enjoy the game however they choose. I am hardly a pci placement god.
That said, I don’t like the idea that someone can prestige a card by grinding against the cpu on veteran.
How is that prestigious?

I'd ask if the +3 boosts actually made that much of a difference against real players either?
I never would have prestiged a player. But it would be a nice option to have for some of my favorite players.
-
In some cases, the +3 puts the player into a better fielding category or H/9 or whatever.
You could argue that that helps vs cpu too but it’s just not the same level of competition.
I don’t think players should be able to prestige a card offline vs the cpu on veteran and then reap benefits online vs actual opponents.
The game is already so wacky at the lower tiers online.

It helps pitchers for the velo boost for fastballs/reduction for offspeed and to cross fielding thresholds, but thats it. +3 to power, contact, vision, speed aren't anything but a placebo effect IMO

How is that prestigious?
It is referring to the card having higher or prestigious stats, not the person using it is prestigious or requires some title. Would it change your mind if we called "offline player card increases"
You dont like the idea, that I could possibly grind my offline card, in offline game modes, to use against the computer.... offline? How does this have any effect on your game?
I dont play against other people, I play offline modes or against my friends when they come over. You will never see me or my inferior "prestige" card in any way. Let the people who want to play online, play online. Let the people who want to play offline, play offline.
-
I just think it is a lot harder to accumulate innings pitched, strikeouts, hits, XBH, runs, and RBI vs real opponents online.
If there were cards prestige-able offline, there would be nothing preventing that player from using that card online.
It’s like the straightedge kid with a wristband at an over 19 punk rock show. Once he is in the venue, the wristband is not going to prevent him from drinking.
-
Then make my offline grinded card only usable in offline modes, or make offline grind only available at same difficulty required for online difficulty. It's as simple as that. The only concern I have is that I'm forced to play online for a card that Iwould only use offline in the first place.
Not sure why "level playing field" is such a worry in this game anyway when I can just drop a couple hundred bucks and create a massive advantage.
I do that anyway, but I think I maybe played 20 online games in the last 3 years so it's not like I'm doing it to create some online disadvantage for you.
