1st year DD

The pandemic gave me more free time, and this year I tried DD for the first time. I’ve had a blast, and met some super great people along the way. This forum is filled with a ton helpful players. Nevertheless, was this anybody else’s first year playing DD???

I've played DD every year, but this is by far the longest I've been invested. Pretty much played it exclusively.

My first year too. I had no idea how much fun it was. I honestly thought DD was like a Pokémon card trading game where you just collected virtual baseball cards. Now I’m addicted and love this community.

Second year here just came back to MLB the show last year, hadn't played since 14. It was my first year of DD, love it both years. Although last year was bad with the lineouts, this year seems more inconsistent with hitting. I've never been good at hitting, but this year I've had slumps where I couldn't hit at all. Seemed okay(not great by any means) earlier in the year. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but since PS5 came out, I can"t hit a lick on my PS4.

Used to be a RTTS-only guy.
Then 2016 came around and I tried DD for the first time.
Barely touched RTTS since. -
My first year too. I didn’t start until July 4th when one of the guys I coach with finally convinced me to try it. I’m not a fantasy sports guy, which is why I didn’t play before, but now I’m hooked. I was a RTTS guy before, now I’ll be a DD guy exclusively unless they completely botch it going forward

My first year. But I started with 19 got like 4 world series players and almost a full 99 team. On 20 I got mantle and 99 williams.

I only played RTTS until this year. That's actually how I started this year. But then around late-April or May I got really bored with RTTS - there weren't any significant updates to the mode and there were some of the same glitches present from past years - so I started playing DD modes. OMG did I get hooked. Now I've got a team with nearly every best-in-position player and I've made steady progress toward becoming better and more consistent in PvP modes.

Me too. Played RTTS for years and years, but with the extra time due to COVID this year, I jumped in around May and have had a blast.

I've been hooked the last 3 years, but still offline with this year being the most I've ever played and still play in December -

I've been hooked the last 3 years, but still offline with this year being the most I've ever played and still play in Decemberlol, there are many I could do without as well. But a large portion are just good people with the same interest willing to share experiences, advice or just talk baseball.

Yeah, a few bad apples, but most will help without making you feel ashamed for asking. Ton of great dialogue, and realization that it’s just a video game lol. We all come from different walks of life, ages, etc.

This is the first time in DD I am going to reach Diamond level.

First year with DD as well and like others have been mainly RTTS since '16.
