Completed Offline DD

SDS

Happy Holidays everyone!
Last night my buy order for Prospect Joe Adell went through allowing me to complete offline DD. I have now completed every player program including extreme for Gehrig, Ruth, Postseason, Monthly etc. I have completed every conquest map, every moment (including cap, Tops Now, etc.) and every collection, including live series (and free agents), equipment , stadiums, every Trout collection and I am 100% on all Stage 4 Team Affinity and have collected every player who can be prestiged, including every inning boss. My only incomplete task in all of DD is the prestige collection which can’t be accomplished as an offline player, save for the 5 I have from the XP reward path. I’ll probably never have the time to do this again in the future. Anyone else complete everything in DD?

SDS

I'm completely useless at hitting. Does that count?

SDS

I've decided I'm going to have to accept that I wont complete the prospects collection. Between Rutschman and Adell I'm not going to fork over 2 million stubs just to complete a collection tab that I will never use the players for.

Otherwise, I've done the same as you except I am also completing the Prestige tab. I wish they somehow indicated the entire completed programs when you go into collections. It should be grayed out, or "completed" when you open the collections tab and see Live Series collection, 7th Inning, Stadium collection or whatever.

SDS

Cards I Still Lack:

-Griffey Sr.
-Edmonds
-Cabrera
-All Ruth Cards (Longoria, Hoffman, Seaver, Ruth)
-All Gehrig Cards (Yelich, Pearson, Gehrig)
-Events (Verlander, McCovey, Nen)
-Run It Back (Jenkins, Aparicio, Spahn)
-96 out of 106 Prestige Cards (5XP + Oswalt, Feller, Rivera, Paxton, Gallegos)

  • "Nice Try, Ramone"

I'll use the next 3 months to finish up the necessary moments and give Conquest Extreme a shot.
In the ballpark of prestiging Felix, Maddux, Jansen, Kershaw, POTM Didi, and a couple of Finest, but my online performance has taken a significant nosedive this year, so I'm not quite as motivated.

Otherwise, bring on 2021!

Dude, that seriously incredible. I can’t even imagine...

SDS

Truthfully, much money you spend on stubs?

I'm 2 prospects away from completing everything except for prestige of course. Only Addel and Rutschman remain for me.

Plus i have every player except for Wagner/ Henderson and prospect Addel in the West division. Just got Vlad last night.

SDS

I started with 18 in late summer (of 2018), and eventually completed every program, team epic, collection, immortal, mission, etc. before moving on to the start of 20. This version seems way easier to fully complete.

By the way there should be a forever event which i'm sure you can prestige any player you want so you should be able to do that too.

I bought Rutschman a few weeks ago for about 600K, I spent $1 Mil on Adell and also had to spend $200K on Logan Gilbert to finish the prospects collection. It took about 3 weeks to get Addell.

I don't understand playing the game only offline... sounds like a personal confidence issue tbh... the fear of losing or failure, but it's an important fear to overcome, to realize winning and losing are both parts of life and both must be taken in stride. Playing only offline, you are never really challenging yourself. All of the offline modes can be exploited once you've figured out the AI, but you can only get a true game when you play against real human's in direct competition. Plus, there's no real psychological reward for playing offline... there's no feeling that you accomplished something awesome by beating an AI team or scenario that is designed to be beaten. Stop being a wuss and learn to lose so you can enjoy the wins.

SDS

That's a bit harsh don't you think. Perhaps just perhaps he doesn't want to play online because of all the toxicity that can come with it. I'm just saying there might be a bit more to it then not challenging himself. Yes I personaly can get wins online but is it worth it to wade through all the opponents who might bunt dance or stall the game out of spite and make it a horrible experience. I do enjoy the occasional game online but I can definitely understand not wanting to play that mode.

He started out with “happy holidays!”... seems like a nice guy. Maybe he doesn’t have fast enough internet, can’t afford a monitor, can’t afford the monthly PS+ fee, etc.

Lmao. Way I see it, he paid for the game just like the rest of us did. Therefore, he’s allowed to play the game however he prefers to, just like every single one of us. Trying to degrade him for simply playing the game how he likes to is rather douche-like in my eyes 🤷

SDS

I did not mean anything I said in an offensive way, it was entirely about truth, however, point taken, I do not know anyone's financial matters and that could very well have something to do with it, and if it is indeed the case that someone could not play online because of financial constraints, I understand and my comment was insensitive. If it's not the case, however, and someone is too scared of putting themselves out there, so to speak, and fearful of the possibility of suffering a loss (and I am certain this is the case with many on here, I see the frequency of plug pulling that goes on, often mid-flight of a home run), all the more reason to play online and figure out how to overcome adversity. Baseball is a game that subtly teaches many of life's most important lessons, but the only way to learn them is to experience all elements of the game, and one can only get that experience playing against other humans.

A lot of us don't play much DD online because most online gaming is not baseball. it's win at all costs exploiting the game. At least I know the computer will behave more closer to a real MLB manager the way it manages it's pitchers and line up and in game moves during baseball situations more than most people playing online DD.

Hence, you are missing the important life lessons. Do you think the real world is more like the computer's AI or other humans? If you can be honest with yourself, you will recognize that is an excuse you are telling yourself after you got frustrated, perhaps you played a more skilled player but you perceived them to not actually be better than you, that they had to "exploit the game" to beat you, and you felt [censored] hurt. But, I assure you, you have it all wrong. You are severely limiting what you can get out of this game by not playing against human competition. Once you figure out how to exploit the AI, beating the computer is just mindless grinding. But, when you play online, you've got to figure out how to beat a different opponent every time. Isn't baseball all about winning at all costs within the confines of the rules?

Also, every exploit your opponent may try can backfire as easily as it can work out.
