Yes online rated plays way better, similar to custom leagues.

So people spend hours and hours and days and days completing missions, buying and selling cards, jumping through all kinds of hoops to collect certain cards for a mode that's basic gameplay is flawed compared to other online modes?

The flawed game play is on purpose to make bad players beat good players more often, which helps keep them from quitting the game, which increases the chances they buy stubs. The randomness and the late inning drama keeps everyone thinking they are one new shiny card away from being good.
There is nothing to buy in online rated, so it is just the base game play (without the manipulation)

Funky sliders? cmon bro. stop being nice lol.

I played a lot of online rated at the start of the year! It plays waaaaaay better and is still a lot of fun!!!

I think ranked has been a dumpster fire for a few ranked seasons. Last night I was up 3-2, my opponent scores 10, goes up 12-3, I come up score 5 making 12-8. Then neither of us could buy a hit, ended up 12-8. The rng kicked in and we had a 15 combined runs in our at bats. But then it neutralized both of us for our next 4 at bats.

Makes perfect sense. Which is why I'll stick to online rated. Fun vs. Frustration. Imput rewarded vs. Rng. Easy choice.

Last comment about this topic. I played another online rated game. I'm squaring up balls with bronze and silver cards. No problem. The pci goes right where I put it. And the pci's are smaller. I just don't get this. There is definitely something different between these modes. That's all.
-
Online rated plays so much better because there is no reward, no $, and SDS doesn’t have to figure out how to keep users engaged.

You're also hitting against some sorry a$$ LS cards lol

Online rated is using cards with lower ratings and a larger disparity in ratings. It uses a different set of sliders as well. There's no money involved in the gameplay, therefore it doesn't require gameplay to engage the user in the same manner as DD.

Why is it that I have fun playing online rated? User input seems to be more accurate. Especially with hitting. I play on hall of fame difficulty. I feel there is less random outcomes with hitting.
If the pci's are bigger in DD, how is it that it's harder to hit? And just seems so much more frustrating.
Do any of you hard core DD guys ever try online rated? I wish
you will and post your opinions here. This has my interest. How do I get to “online rated”?

Doesn't require gameplay? you mean scripting?

It's all relative. sorry azz hitters and pitchers. But theres a big difference in gameplay.

I gave up on DD due to the garbage gameplay, but I might just give online rated a shot

Not scripting, but the RNG applied to hitting and pitching results. The RNG ranges are much wider in DD, leading to a wider spectrum of possible results.
