I had a PS5 sitting in my closet for about a week and FINALLY got around to hooking it up last night. As far as actual gameplay there not enough of a difference to justify getting one just for MLB20. It’s little stuff like how quick load times are, I kept pre pitch swinging with my next batter after an out. I realized I was use to hitting x a couple times when the next batter is walking up to get to the plate and the 4 has a bit of a delay. Not the 5 it’s instant.
You do really notice the frame drops that the 4 had now that I’m seeing how smooth this is. MLB parks are not an issue and play great (small sample). Online seemed not choppy at all. There was this noticeable drop sometimes on swing and misses online and that’s gone. The game just feels great. That said it’s still the old hitting engine and the mechanics of the game are the same. However from what I’m seeing that the 5 can do to this game designed for the 4. 21 looks very promising!
One side note: I fired this first on my living room big screen to check out Cyberpunk on a nicer tv as I play on a monitor usually. Tried MLB on this tv and HOLY HANAH is the delay bad. Breaking balls on Allstar were like 102mph FBs. I couldn’t do it, I was just terrible. I suggest if you are wanting to be competitive at all in this game a monitor is a must.

Hmmm, my experience was it is basically the same game with slight improvement on the 5. No frame drops and faster load times than the PS4 are the main things so what does the PS4 do that the PS5 can’t in your experience?

The PS4 Pro offers nothing. The PS5 you get zero frame drops. that is all. You can play at highest resolution with "sharper" setting in game and it plays as smooth as silk. But if you are playing online H2H that wont make much of a difference because you are still gonna get lag. Lag and FPS drops are 2 totally different thing. FPS is referring to the smoothness of play via the hardware, or software in some cases, lag refers to the smoothness of play between internet connections. PS5 cannot help the later.

Maybe it's changed, but I was a manager for them for 6 years and Items with set pricing from manufacturer were not allowed to be discounted, food is slightly inaccurate as well, I believe you still get the discount on produce.

The game runs great on the 5. It can handle the highest visual settings and not drop any frames. The internet latency issues are another issue but from what I’ve seen 2021 might be a great game.

I don't know what it is for sure but all of a sudden I seem to be getting smoked like never before, especially in the latest event games. Seems like right after the PS5 hit. Are there that many using the PS4 pro and PS5 right now ? Is it that big of an advantage. I am not the greatest player but lately I get hit real bad and can not hit [censored].
i have a PS4 Pro and never had lag once in any major league stadiums - it has to be a RAM issue as the original PS4 always people complain the game lags

I have a PS5 and the only difference I have noticed is that MLB stadiums don't seem as laggy or have seemingly faster pitch speeds like they did on PS4. It was still buggy with online play depending on connection with opponent. I don't feel I am any better or worse on PS5 than I was on PS4.
