I was lucky and somehow snagged a PS5 from Walmart last Wednesday and is suppose to be ready for pickup in two days. I’m so on the fence about keeping it or selling it. I play two games MLB and GTA. I haven’t touched GTA in a year however.
I know scalpers are getting flamed hard as they should. If you use bots or any type of software and buy up 10-20 PS5s at a time you suck. I however was trying for two weeks daily, did it the old fashioned way just hitting refresh with my info ready to go. I got lucky and only have one. Basically if I sell it I will get a free PS5 from the profit. I don’t need one til MLB 21 drops. It’s the shiny new factor that intrigues me to keep it.
If I do keep it I will let you know if it plays better. I’m hoping frame drop is at least gone.
A scalper is a scalper stop trying to make yourself feel better about taking advantage of people with your inflated pirice.
I expected this reaction but can I ask you this. Was my time from November 12 to November 25 not worth anything? Taking the time to keep my ear on the ground and chase drop rumors? To hit refresh hourly for two weeks on PS Direct to try and get in a queue? To wake up at 4am to try and get the BestBuy drop? The few Walmart drops? Just to get one console. That’s not worth anything?
What if I buy and sell trading cards from time to time. Some cards inflate in price and I make $20 on a $3 card is that not okay? What about the C8 Corvette that dealers are marking $20k over msrp, is that fine? Just curious? It’s not just the PS5 it’s everything. Shoes, vehicles, toilet paper and hand sanitizer for crying out loud.

Actually it’s 100% legal and Walmart just called me 15 minutes ago. My PS5 came in early it’s ready for pickup!

Go ahead and think what you like it’s the beautiful thing about America. Just hope you stick to your own beliefs and never ever sell anything for more than you pay for it. Whether it’s a house, concert tickets, or a stick of gum. I’m sure it costs Sony $499 to build and ship the PS5 as well. Enjoy your day!

Blue Dodger the vehicle marketing is all hype and FOMO. Take the Dodge Challenger for example. First it’s the base, then now you need the R because we added 50hp and a stiffer suspension, now it’s the Hellcat, hold on that sucks because you don’t have the DEMON! Corvette will be the same way they’ll add the Z package and then the Stingray.
I was fortunate enough to buy one of my dream cars in February. Since then the market has inflated the price close to $5k. I suppose though I should just sell it for what I paid for if that time comes.
Totally unrelated to the game & thread, but curious as a car enthusiast myself, what car were you able to snag?
I got a Porsche Cayman 987.2 manual 6spd with 19k miles on it from Florida (I’m in MN). Extremely clean car looks as it has never seen rain. These are mid engine cars and the handling is crazy, crazy, CRAZY, good. I have since put a Numeric shifter and cables on it, wheel spacers to flush the wheels with the body and a Soul valved exhaust that sounds SAWEET. I love this thing, sadly it’s now tucked away for winter. Here is a picture when I first got it.

I had a PS5 sitting in my closet for about a week and FINALLY got around to hooking it up last night. As far as actual gameplay there not enough of a difference to justify getting one just for MLB20. It’s little stuff like how quick load times are, I kept pre pitch swinging with my next batter after an out. I realized I was use to hitting x a couple times when the next batter is walking up to get to the plate and the 4 has a bit of a delay. Not the 5 it’s instant.
You do really notice the frame drops that the 4 had now that I’m seeing how smooth this is. MLB parks are not an issue and play great (small sample). Online seemed not choppy at all. There was this noticeable drop sometimes on swing and misses online and that’s gone. The game just feels great. That said it’s still the old hitting engine and the mechanics of the game are the same. However from what I’m seeing that the 5 can do to this game designed for the 4. 21 looks very promising!
One side note: I fired this first on my living room big screen to check out Cyberpunk on a nicer tv as I play on a monitor usually. Tried MLB on this tv and HOLY HANAH is the delay bad. Breaking balls on Allstar were like 102mph FBs. I couldn’t do it, I was just terrible. I suggest if you are wanting to be competitive at all in this game a monitor is a must.

Hmmm, my experience was it is basically the same game with slight improvement on the 5. No frame drops and faster load times than the PS4 are the main things so what does the PS4 do that the PS5 can’t in your experience?

The PS4 Pro offers nothing. The PS5 you get zero frame drops. that is all. You can play at highest resolution with "sharper" setting in game and it plays as smooth as silk. But if you are playing online H2H that wont make much of a difference because you are still gonna get lag. Lag and FPS drops are 2 totally different thing. FPS is referring to the smoothness of play via the hardware, or software in some cases, lag refers to the smoothness of play between internet connections. PS5 cannot help the later.

Maybe it's changed, but I was a manager for them for 6 years and Items with set pricing from manufacturer were not allowed to be discounted, food is slightly inaccurate as well, I believe you still get the discount on produce.

The game runs great on the 5. It can handle the highest visual settings and not drop any frames. The internet latency issues are another issue but from what I’ve seen 2021 might be a great game.

I don't know what it is for sure but all of a sudden I seem to be getting smoked like never before, especially in the latest event games. Seems like right after the PS5 hit. Are there that many using the PS4 pro and PS5 right now ? Is it that big of an advantage. I am not the greatest player but lately I get hit real bad and can not hit [censored].
i have a PS4 Pro and never had lag once in any major league stadiums - it has to be a RAM issue as the original PS4 always people complain the game lags

I have a PS5 and the only difference I have noticed is that MLB stadiums don't seem as laggy or have seemingly faster pitch speeds like they did on PS4. It was still buggy with online play depending on connection with opponent. I don't feel I am any better or worse on PS5 than I was on PS4.
