How’s this for a marketing idea: Put together a Black Friday flash sale where there are special packs with rare players like Wliiie Mays, Billy Wagner and other hard to get players and put them at 1 to 10 odds, throw in 99 finest players and sell the packs for 100,000 stubs.
I'm sure no one will complain when they buy 5 of those packs and get 3 Gerrit Coles and 2 Ronald Acunas.

Yea madden does not have a cap and it sux. Pay 10mil for one card. I like the cap. I don’t have the answer but I do know something has to change. The best players in this game should be rewarded for being that good but cards like that should not be locked away where most won’t be able to use them. Lou Gehrig is one of my favorite all time players and I won’t get to use him because I can’t beat the extreme showdown or a few extreme challenges to save my life. Not cool

FIFA had players for 15mil and would still be extinct. I still prefer this current system to that.

You get a Gehrig and you get a Gehrig, everybody gets a Gehrig!!!

We shouldn't all have access to the best cards. People should get some type of rewards for doing great things in the game like going 12-0 or making it to WS just like everyone shouldn't get a trophy just for playing in a league. If they were to make these packs then it should definitely be more than 100,000 stubs though.
Want the access to World Series and BR card to be exclusive, then make those rewards non-sellable.

I don't agree to be honest. I think that players should be able to earn them for free if they do something great like go 12-0 or reach WS but that if they choose to sell them then that's on them.

I think these cards should be exclusive, but not this exclusive. By no means should they be given away in packs, but in previous years you had to either pay up in skill or in stubs. This year everyone has the stubs so you either have to pay up in skill, refresh your game/computer screen at the perfect time to get early in line, or just pray to ramone that you get the card before MLB 21 comes out. WS and BR 12-0 guys can still be rewarded without completely shutting off everyone else. This was never this much of an inflation problem in previous years. The only other time I can think of that any cards were at the limit were Harper/Bagwell/Alomar in 17, but the cap was 500k. You “get gud” people need to get a grip when two of the best players on this forum @mitchhammond24 and @raesONE recognize this problem themselves

If an item is in rare supply you should be free to pay more to acquire said item. Otherwise you end up with people trampling each other to be first in line.
If I want to pay $4000 to get a PS5 today, I can do so. Why give people millions of stubs and then limit their ability to spend them?

Just remove the stub cap on those cards so there isn’t a line. I’ll gladly pay over 2 million for Mays if I could
Problem with that is people loaded with stubs will just buy them all up and put up ridiculously high prices, and we’re back to square one where only a.few people can get the cards

I quoted you, you said we shouldn't all have access. By making them sellable, we all have access. Skill means nothing when it comes to getting these cards. Just buy them. Not exclusive at all.

If you knew going in the odds were 1 to 10 it’s a risk you were willing to take

I really don’t think so. People with that amount of stubs just want the card, they can make more stubs in other ways. I absolutely don’t have a problem with only a few people having these cards; but it should be acquired through game skill, market skill, or paying outright. I’m willing to bet the percentage of players who have Mantle and Trout are an extreme amount higher than the percentage who had Mays and Honus last year. This was never a problem in previous years because you actually have to work to acquire the card/stubs to acquire the card. If someone put a buy order for Chipper in today I guarantee they don’t ever get him. If people want to pay a premium for a card they should be allowed to. Would all 600 people that have 1 mil orders in for Mays be willing to pay 2,3,4 mil for him? I doubt it

We definitely don't all have access considering how many people are in line for them and how few of them are being sold.

I mean ya maybe two of the people who are in that higher level agree with you but there's also a bunch who probably don't so throwing two names out doesn't really mean too much to me to be honest but I can understand what you're saying. I guess the benefit the better players get is not having to wait in a line or paying one million stubs for those cards but I just don't have the mindset that I deserve to just use any card I want just because I play the game.

The difference is you can work to earn stubs (or buy them), so if Gehrig costs 3 million stubs, you can get there with effort. Right now all you can work on is waiting in line.

I think we're confusing "exclusive" and "rare" with "best." For the most part, I think SDS does a good job about making sure the BR and WS cards aren't necessarily the "best" in the game. There are obv some exceptions (Willie, Wagner, maybe Chiperoo), but I don't think many people would call Gary Carter, Johnny Bench, Roberto Alomar, Rickey, Bob Feller, etc. to be the "best" cards in the game.
I think we would all have a very valid beef if SDS only handed out a very small and limited number of Finest Soto, PotM Tatis, Mantle, Trout, Foxx, Griffey, Kluber, Babe, etc. I doubt anyone would quiver in their little pink panties if they face an opponent with Johnny Bench, Casey Mize, Pujols, and Eddie Mathews or whatever.

I agree, but I think the point is if I'm a rich fatcat I should be able to buy whatever card I want if it's on the market for however many beans I want. Lines are for the little people.

just increase the cap to 5 or 10 million

This is a lesson in communism. if you refuse to change the pricing policy you will end up with a huge shortage as demand stays high. Move to a capitalist society and you just raise the price and demand goes down and so does the line.
Makes me think of bread lines back in the days of the Soviet Union.
