How is Signature Series Rich Gossage?
-
I've been sitting on about 600K (plus a bunch of Live Series cards saved for Stage 4 of Team Affinity) and I was going to save to get either Roberto Alomar or Casey Mize but that Gossage is tempting. I have yet to face him so I don't have any way of knowing how tough he is to face either.
[Edit] I may end up buying Eddie Mathews if Gossage isn't worth it. Would love to hear some opinions on both of these cards.

He's tough, but also tough to control. I learned yesterday that I have a better ERA and WHIP with Prime Romo than SS Goose.

Romo is one of the smoothest bp pieces I hve used this year. Not surprising...dude pinpoints like maddux for me

He's solid OP. Highly recommend.

I’ve had all three.
Gossage is the answer unless you really rake with switch hitters or need them to compete. Mize is good, but literally any pitcher with the same H/9 is just as good this year. He will get lit up just like anyone else.
With Goose you get a reliever with nasty break and 102mph stuff as well as 41 stamina.

Goose is a stud

Faced him in the last game and I had no idea what I was doing lol

Eddie is my best card currently batting .316 43 homers and 79 rbi on all star and hof games...defense is there...and despite the stats he hits lefties just as well

Like he said control is the only issue with Goose, his fastball and slurve are fine but the sinker jumps around on me. Also if you want Alomar I was thinking of selling mine today.

In a small sample size for me, he’s 0-2 with an 11.00 era. I am notoriously bad at blowing games though. So it’s not entirely his fault. I’m sure after a few more outings, I can get that era below 10.
-
Very small sample but for me, 2.1 IP 0.00 ERA 0.43 WHIP 4k's 0 BB's; so yeah I'd say he's getting the job done. It's hard to go wrong with 124 H/9 125 K/9 121 PCLT and 102 MPH fastball with a huge slurve at 87. Oh and a sinker and changeup that are equally nasty.
Your opponent is going to sit on that fastball so don't rely on it. Make them fear your off speed just as much as your FB and sinker. In my albeit brief game play with him, I threw a lot of sinkers and slurves, with fastball and changeups as out pitches. Worked well against solid opponents.

I'm going to pull the trigger and buy Gossage. Thank you all for the help on this one!
I wish I would've done the event more and maybe could've saved myself the 500K but it's all good. He seems to be worth the tag.
-
He's good I Faced for the first time today. I struck out twice and hit a ground ball to shortstop, I consider my ground ball out an accomplishment
