What exactly is RNG?

I hear it being referred to, and I get the sense that it has to do with computer generated outcomes. Can someone define this for me?

Random number generator, I can't explain it all that well so hopefully someone can help with that, but from what I understand it makes the outcome of games random but like I said I'm not the person to explain it.

It generates outcome, for example perfect/perfect, there is a small % chance of it bring an out, and rng decides that.

RNG is how I ended up with a great wife.
P.S. I need EVERYONE on the forums to like this so I can show my wife. Then, she will let me play more. Then, I can beat Showdown Extreme. Then, I can start a new thread entitled "There is no RNG" and watch everyone's hair light on fire.

Lol thank you. Like it was beautifully put above, RNG is everywhere in life.
The anecdotes we hear about on here and experience ourselves, that make us scratch our heads and wonder if we’re crazy or if “that’s baseball”, that’s 1000% DDA.
