Kenley Jansen?
-
My tip is throw the cutter and sinker to the same spot or look like they are going to the same spot and then end them with the slider
-
For me he is not deceptive enough with his delivery & other guys picks up on what I'm throwing & where. Overall he is decent then most closers/relievers out there, but not within the best top 7 in my opinion. For a 99 SS Diamond, to me he does not pitch like it, more like a 85-90 Diamond. I only use him when I need to insert into my DD Team Bullpen because my Bullpen may have been heavily taxed in the last 2-3 & I need a fresh arm to use while it takes 1-2 games for my other guys to re coop energy.
-
Jansen is fantastic. His cutter is easily a top 5 pitch in the game.
-
I only have about 10-12 IP with him but he’s dominate, 2 ER that came in the “You scored some runs so now your opponent gets a huge boost” phase of a recent game. A HR on basically the only pitch he squared up all game.

Wow you don’t think he is top 7. Who is your top 7 in this game.?
I got
Jansen
Wagner
Gagne
Miller
Chapman
Kimbrel
Britton -
Hate to agree with Maverick but Kenley is definitely top 7 closer/ reliever
-
I’ve been playing a lot of events recently and Jansen gets rocked for me. It seems that he never gets calls on the black. When he does hit his spots, the batter will inevitably get a late ok hit followed by a hanging slider to the next batter that gets jacked. I checked my stats and of all the other relievers I use a lot, the highest era is a 4.00. My boy Jansen has a 6.00. I try to be smart when I use him. I know that everyone is aware of his cutter, so I try to keep batters off balance with his other stuff but nothing seems to work.

It must be hard for you to acknowledge a valid point of view. Do you lose points in your crew for that or something.
Jansen was pretty much lights out for me until about a week ago and now he is still at the top. Just not ridiculous

BrittonMy 7 go to guys in my Bullpen that I'm using now on a regular basis (until I get others within my wishlist) that are giving "me" the best results for "myself" are the following
(Lefty's)
PS-19 Britton
LS Felipe Vasquez (Yes for a LS card he is AWESOME for me)
(Righty's)
Finest Yates
Finest Hendricks
SS Hoffman
SS Nen
All Star 95 Diamond GossageAgain these are the closers/relievers that works best for "ME".
I only insert Jansen at times when I need a fresh arm to use while the others stay in the pen re cooping. I use SS Smith the same way.I still have not gotten yet Wagner, Gane, Miller or Chapman. They are on my wishlist.

Wasn't hard at all when the viewpoint was actually valid.

For those who think Jensen is top 7 or whatever, what level do you play on? Have you ever crack the top 100 in any RS. Cause if you had you should know that Jensen is super easy to hit. Now, if you play against average players then yes he is amazing.

I strongly disagree. He's been solid for me all across the rankings, including against top 100 folks. Yeah, he'll hang a cutter every now and again, but I'll blame myself for that and for not mixing/locating better, I won't blame the card. He's not in my top 3, but he's definitely in my top 7.

I haven’t played against top 100. But he seems to do pretty good against the other 20,000 people online. I have used him in WS no problem.

Well you for some unknown reason you mentioned how much you hated doing it. That usually implies difficulty on some level. But it’s whatever

I’ve been top 100 most seasons and lifetime float right around that so I tend to match up with good players and Jansen and Romo are the only two righties I feel really comfortable with. Gagne doesn’t usually get hit hard but I have a lot of trouble with his control for some reason so I’m nervous about using him in tough situations.
-
Used him for the first time yesterday it's not a good card gives up too many hits.
-
Some cards will work great with some people & not with other people. Jansen works very well for me, but not as "great" as the guys I normally have in my bullpen. Plain & simple. For those of you who LOVES Jansen & SWEARS by his card performance. Then more power to you. Continue using him & be happy.

Seems like a good sample size. Jansen is near the top of the righty class of relievers
-
Jansen is fantastic but you can't get too predictable with him. I tend to get in lots of trouble whenever I start spamming pitches away with him to righties and in to lefties. But he's incredibly easy to locate pitches with and his pitch mix with his per 9s make him far and above any other reliever in the game.
-
I find with him that I try not make guys make contact. Instead of trying to get the K. I use that cutter, FB, sinker in and out up and down. Attempting to make the location by having the starting point in similar spots. Mix in the slider way out of the zone so it’s in their head. Finish them off with the slider by pitch 5 if they are still there
