My Collection on the Eve of ....

The reason people think Prestige will be required is Prestige Helton was one of the cards in the Twitter video yesterday.

you can look at it different ways. We will need to collect cards from every single collection or that video is just showing you that every single type of card is used in one giant collection maybe as in like one enormous exchange. Instead of exchanging them you just collect them I'm not really sure. I do not see you needing mantle and Sheffield and home run Derby Griffey. I have mantle and Sheffield but I am not shelling out what those home run Derby cards are going for. In order to do that collection now you're looking at half a million subs. It could also be a tier progression like the other collections where the main collection reward is the monster Reggie stocker or something but then along the way you get cards like Ted Williams or Roberto alomar Jr, etc.

I have been taken the quantity over quantity approach over the last few days. So with some cards way over priced I have sold them off to aquire alot more lower priced cards. There is some risk involved with that but selling the Prospect Logan for almost 50k and picking up 3 awards series cards feels like the better move

Hopefully I've done enough. Here's what I have so far:
Monthly Awards: All
HRD: 6/13
Face of the Franchise: 42/60
Future Stars: 19/41
Players League: All
Prime: 21/28
Signature Series: 13/19
Prospects: 27/29
Awards: 23/33
Rookie: All
Breakout: 34/36
All Star: 35/38
Veteran: 32/33
Postseason: 18/22The only cards I have prestiged are Oswalt and Feller, but i'm almost finished with Felix, Henke, Rivera, Marichal and Smoltz.
I think the only one you are going to be short on is FS. Maybe they include faces and fs' in the same collection tho and you would be fine there ?

I think you guys may be over prepared. A line from the live stream caught my attention and has stuck with me. I'm paraphrasing but it was along the lines of "you may have a bunch of these already in your collection with no collection for them. that will change on the 28th". To me it sounds like a lot of cards will be recoded to fit into the collections with the tiers Rookie, Vet, AS, PS, & Breakout. The other type of card collection that would be needed is signature based on last year. So if you have base sig walker that's a sig card. if you have prestige walker that is also a sig card. Prestige won't be a separate collection need. Back to the recoding look at the TA3 cards. Yount's is from his 82 season based on his age. therefore that could go into AS or PS where he hit .414 in the WS. Dawson is from his ROY season so that would go into the rookie tier. Brett is from 85 so it could be AS or PS. i sold off my investments in the last 24h because I think the bubble will burst once the collection drops and people see they are over prepared.

All Star: 36/38
Awards: 12/33
Breakout: 34/36
The Show Classic: 8/11 (Sanchez, Morton, Mondesi, etc as well as the 3 "cover" cards)
Face of the Franchise: 27/60
Future Stars: 3/41 (embarrassing)
HRD: 1/13
Players League: all (including Garrett)
Postseason: 18/22
Prime: 19/28
Prospect: all
Rookie: all
Signature: 10/19
POTM: all
Veteran: 30/33I took a little different strategy than everyone else. My ultimate goal isn't today's collection (though I'll get there eventually.) My goal is to own every card. That's why instead of buying up all the cheaper old Headliners, I've been saving my stubs and buying all the BR and WS rewards since those are the ones where supply eventually plummets and prices soar at the end of the year while the Headliners all drop because the market gets flooded. So far, I've picked up 10 BR rewards costing a total of 1.27M. The 10 cheapest BR rewards I bought last year cost me 2.5M and the total BR bill ended up being 6.38M.

Prestige cards are technically their own "class" so Prestige Walker is not technically a Sig card. The line you are referring to is likely in reference to collecting prestige cards.
TA3 cards are grouped with Face of the Franchise already....that is how they are searchable via market. They don't speculate or let you guess where these are going based on age.

Cards fall into collections based on a tag in the coding is my guess. So for Prestige walker they add sig or signature tag to it and boom he would be eligible for the sig collection. A bunch of the current Prime cards will probably get the Vet or veteran tag. the FOTF as I mentioned earlier can possibly get different tags.

Sounds like wishful thinking at best to be honest. There is no precedent for them ever changing how cards are classified. Prime cards are already classified as Prime...they have their own collection...no reason to reclassify them.
The only collection I don't see really are the gold prospects...there was a collection for them in like the 1st inning program but I don't see a main collection for them in the collections screen (unless I over looked it). I know they have the diamond prospects collection.

I could be completely wrong and reading too much into one line of the stream. I admit that. But just because something hasn't been done before doesn't mean it can't. There was no precedent for a collection like this until there was with Wagner last year. If someone at the beginning of last year said hey hold onto everything because SDS is going to drop a massive collection midseason everyone would have written that person off.
