Does Ranked Seasons fill anyone else with misery?
-
Yes, In fact I was just about to post how I feel more comfortable playing in the Event with 64 overall pitchers than I do in RS with my 99's. Also, you don't have to face 99 Kluber / Newhouser every other game in events. RS is a S-show this year.
-
- Events
- Showdowns
- Battle Royale
- Conquest
- Blowing stubs on packs
- Exchanging all my players for Team affinity
7 - 24. Literally anything else
Then maybe Ranked Seasons
-
Ranked should be reworked for MLBTS21. Enough of this nonsense of gaining and losing points, dropping down or going up in divisions and changing the difficulty across all the modes. There’s nothing worse than getting to DS or CS on your way to WS and losing a few and being “demoted”. It kills my desire to want to play.

I wish there was like an actual season mode with playoffs. They could construct it with a harsh penalty if you didn’t play the season out, so people actually play the games.
So design just like a real MLB season with 30 teams and playoffs. Sometimes you’d have lifers and no chance. But sometimes you’d have a lucky draw as far as competition goes. Instead of 162 games, maybe like 40 games and the playoffs.

I agree, we need something other than ranked that has a 9 inning game + the ability to use our full team

I hover above RS and the voices in my head start and just won’t stop.
“The rewards suck, it’s not even worth it”
“Even if they were it takes an hour”
“Just play showdown the pitching doesn’t matter”
“I’m kinda hungry aren’t I”
“Kinda tired”
“My friends are on other games probably having WAY more fun that this will be”It’s hard to make the plunge sometimes.
-
I think the fact that I suck at this game makes RS more enjoyable to me than it seems to be for others. I know going in that even if I play my absolute best ill probably never reach world series, so I'm able to just relax without getting overly frustrated by losses. All I really expect to get out of RS is a reasonably competitive game against an opponent with a similar skill level, and I feel like I get that 99% of the time. If I win thats great, but even in a loss the prestige stats still count so I make progress either way.
-
I like to put newly unlocked players into my RS lineup and pitching staff. Then I look at the team for a while. Then I go play events.
-
RS is awful this year. I don't enjoy it, and don't touch it often.
-
Thought it was just me. I just avoid it now and play events or showdowns. More frustrating than fun

I literally have to convince myself to play and start the grind to make WS. Every time I’m “searching for an opponent” I’m just enveloped in a deep, gloomy depression. It just is not fun anymore. And I absolutely love the game of baseball, so it hurts my heart to say that. But I’m super competitive and as soon as something as game-changing as RNG or unfair advantages or disadvantages impedes that competitiveness, I find the experience becomes incredibly cheapened. I’ve come to realize this is not how I should be feeling playing a baseball game I used to love. I realize this is now the reality of online gameplay for most games, so in that sense, at least I know I’m not alone in experiencing all the “BS”, as the young whippersnappers like to say. I just miss the days when true skill won the day. But it seems that mediocrity is just the way of the world these days, and that’s a darned shame. Good luck everyone.
P.S. I’m not a boomer.
Bwahaha I thought I was the only one....everytime I'm searching for an opponent I'm thinking to myself are you sure u want to play and deal with it. Then when it says opponent found it's like the boat has arrived on the shore of Normandy and ur just waiting for the steel doors to open for the chaos to start.
Editors note: You ever get to the 3rd inning and say.." you know this game isnt so infuriating I just have to stay calm and just not let it get to me...its a video game "
6th inning: " Hold my beer "
-
It’s the worst. In About 90% of my games, the pitch speeds are so fast I can barely react. The other 10%, I could face the exact same pictures, the pitch speeds are normal and everything plays fine. All of the games are sweaty except for the ones where I’ll randomly give up 15 runs in an inning and pretty much pitch a shutout the rest of the game. And honestly, I have more confidence in my common pitchers, and I can hit my spots better in events that I do with my high 90s pitchers in ranked.

You're not alone at all.

Feels like a good time to bump this

I’ve been playing since ‘15. When I started, I was all about online. Wouldn’t even think of playing offline. I remember one year I played over 600 online games. Now, I think I’ve only played 100 and much prefer player programs than playing online. The game plays so much worse/differently online than off. Don’t like it anymore!
-
Ranked rewards poor input and allows bad players to win games they shouldn’t. I’m in my 2nd year of online and I played a lot last year and in the beginning of this year to be good with pci placement. The game is a joke on hof and lower. The ring decides most games not talent
-
If you’re a lot better than your opponent then you will win. Otherwise it’s a fifty minute coin flip
-
RS drains my soul! Makes me want to punch holes in sheetrock.. But yet the next time I am back for more... Somethings wrong with me..

Very well said. People will say that that’s how it should be, and they might be right. But when you are evenly matched with your opponent, that’s when you really notice how much the stuff that’s out of your control impacts the outcome.

yup.. was my goto mode for so many years, but i try to avoid it this year. it only leaves me cursing and frustrated.. it just isn't fun anymore.. and this is a game. Games should be fun.
I managed to hit 300pts without playing Ranked for the 6th inn! program. Yay!
