Update 1.13 Discussion

I really hope this update is more than adding more info to swing analysis. A You know the old "Lipstick on a pig". Also not sure how i feel about adding wind online to an already inconsistent hitting system. Just feels like another excuse as to why my p/p flyball with 100+ power batter is only warning track worthy. Again"Lipstick on a pig". With all that said I'll hold judgment until a significant amount of playing time and will definitely applaud you guys for making such a drastic update/change when you could of easily mailed it in.

I hope this patch makes online casuals happy.

Time will tell but aside from the starting pitcher stamina, it sounds mostly like spin doctoring.

Yep a lot of this tracks with what I suspected. Very nice to finally have this info.
There's way too much nuance in batted balls that can be perfectly summarized with a couple adjectives, which I think is what was causing a lot of the frustration. For instance, I saw a big time streamer the other day hit an inside fastball to the opposite field for a flyout, but because he got his PCI over the center of it, it was a "good/good." And so he threw a gigantic hissy fit about how the game was out to get him. But how often do you see a player inside-out a pitch for a home run?
I think a lot of the indignation this year is the result of genuine good/goods being lumped into the same category as inferior good/goods because of a lack of descriptors.
It's like if your friend tells you a restaurant is good. Do you just head straight there without learning anything else about it? You'd want to know what kind of food they serve and if it matches up with your particular tastes. You'd want to know your friend's tastes and what they consider good. You'd want to know what to order. If you had to choose to go to every restaurant based on if it's good or okay, you'd be disappointed a lot.
-
Now we’re differentiating between good/goods ?
What’s next? A perfect good/good and an ok good/good?

Looks good, wish they would have included hot/cold zones on input window. It would limit the people complaining that they didn’t hit the ball 600 ft on a perfect perfect swing.
-
Still need to fix some more commentary corrections and get rid of some of those when your playing in one place and they will say your playing in another. Also batters running with the bat after tossing it and running to first base. Hope some fielding near the wall works well and helps to grab some catchable balls. Looks like a solid update and hope it translates over well.

I don’t know... a double ‘lipstick on a pig’ doesn’t sound to me like somebody holding off their judgment

Pras reads ‘too many HRs not enough doubles’ from those gameplay stats.

When does it go live? I still only have patch 1.12 as an option
-
Anybody have the actual update yet? Or does it go live in two hours?
-
One hour five minutes away

This patch appears to fix nothing in the hitting engine, just shows you why you got the result you did....problem is good/okay contact on balls right down the middle with good timing with the ball in the center of the pci is going to make the hitting engine look like even more of an rng joke when getting good Okay’d lmao!
Yes! We all want our batters to hit 0.800 so we can complain about pitching more!

Ever notice that almost no one complains about their opponent not being able to hit well? When it is your opponent hitting poorly it is that their skill isn't very good. But when you do not hit well it is the system that is broken. Ever notice that almost no one complains when they are thrown pitches down the middle? Has anyone ever posted, "I am getting way too many pitches right down the middle"? Again when you get pitches down the middle it is that your opponent isn't very skilled, but when you throw pitches down the middle it is the pitching system sucks!. And mostly, almost no one takes into account their players abilities. Guess what? Some of your players are going to do better than others no matter how good you are. Mike Trout is going to hit better than a random common player. Crazy, huh?

How do we know where our opponent aimed when they are pitching
Edit: ‘they are’ added for clarification.

Nice attempt.....bit of a stretch there

Patch updated, go into an event game as the home team. I get 2 relievers up in my bullpen, first pitch...frozen. Maybe it’s just unlucky, but not off to a great start.
