Harassment?

I was thinking. This game bans users for certain types of posts and one can even report other users for different types of things. I wonder how many of you would consider a “pause player” a form of harassment?
I played this (can’t say) user who from the very beginning of the game would pause for a second or two before every pitch I threw him. Then the user would pause several times while I was batting after I got a hit. It was just over and over throughout the entire game. I was actually hoping he’d run out of time but of course the game kept adding time to his clock.
Finally, towards the end of the game I hit a HR off him so what do they do? Yes beam me. I can’t help but wonder why users like this can’t be reported under harassment or why they are not penalized. Oh wait. Never mind.

This is why the clock should not have time added to it.

The thing is that you don't know why people pause the game. Maybe people have legitimate cause like a kid or a pet who all of a sudden causes distractions after you just started a game. I'm not saying people don't pause just to be annoying, but you can never prove it and therefore people will also never be banned for it.
-
I had this kid pausing in events today, finally find out he’s messaging me for favors..over and over pausing & messaging but politely, so I finally give Stargell his XBH and he quits after with :25 sec on the clock.
Like idk wtf “ Can I get a XDH with Starget” means.

I don't think banning is the answer. As said before, people pause for many reasons, some legit, some just to be a [censored], but there does need to be a change in the time limit for sure. It's too long, its resets(which is just absurd), and they give you the option to watch every cutscene and batter walk up. Its beyond ridiculous sometimes

I kind of agree. If a player pauses more than, say, 3 times in any half inning, no time should get added. Sometimes you need more time than normal to sub, double switch, and/or manage the bullpen. If no time gets added ever, legit players are going to get screwed in long games which also isn’t right.

Sometimes it's because your pitching too fast. Some people need a second or two between pitches, not just quick pitch after quick pitch so maybe they will pause for a couple seconds just so they can think. Usually if you slow down pitching just a second or two they stop, but there are the ones who just do it to aggravate you I think. But sometimes there is a reason, but I've found if they are pausing it every pitch and you just slow yourself down for a couple seconds it gives them a chance to think and they stop the pausing. Sometimes you just have to figure out how each player feels comfortable with the time between pitches, a lot of people just try to pitch as fast as humanly possible and some others don't want it being 2 seconds between a pitch because you have no time to think about anything that you want to do or anything else because the pitches are coming faster than you can swing

I agree with all of these posts and they are reasonable for pausing the game at different times. However, I should have added that he was pausing with every batter he had come to the plate. Not to mention at least 3 times per batter. So having that said I don’t see the reason being kids or other distractions being the reason. He would literally run his timer down to about 30 seconds per inning.
As for pitching too quickly I actually made him wait before each pitch cause I knew he was pausing so much.
-
I mean it’s a D thing to do but dude....It’s not harassment. Come on now.

He probably was just being a douche then, some people will have to pause if your pitching too quick, but usually if you can figure it out and just wait a couple seconds just out of respect for the other player it stops (if your going to fast for me or I'm too fast for you
sometimes it's the only option) But this sounds like he was just trying to get you to quit if he's running the timer down for so long -

If something is making you that distracted, why even play? I would get my [censored] handed to me if I was distracted to the point where I would pause every pitch in every inning. The guy was trying to mess with him, which is Bush league.

Exactly my thoughts. Overall I try to finish any game I play (unless the connection is so bad I can’t play then I’ll quit).

I think they should ban users who say "beam" instead of bean.

What if it’s a Star Trek reference and they think they are getting beamed up to first base?
-
Well that’s obviously acceptable. Lol.

Well in regards to your off topic comment. I’ve heard both used in regards to a player being hit. Not that it really matters.
-
I played baseball for over 20 years at a highly competitive level and have never, ever, ever, ever, ever heard someone say beamed for HBP. If you have heard it I'd say it was one time and had to be by someone who had no idea what they were talking about.
-
Can't ban someone for using the pauses the game gives them they need to lessen the clock, because it's excessive having that much pause time in an online H2H game. No other game I've played let's you pause this much. No ban for someone pausing though... Just a loss if they exceed their half hour a game of pausing.
-
I have no issues with someone pausing but pausing to throw your timing off you just to annoy you so you quit need to be forced to watch reggie's or Didi no doubt home run trot.

Well it must depend on the location someone is in. I too played and coached for over 20 years. To be honest I’ve heard them both. Have I heard “beaned” more often? Maybe so but I have also heard “beaming” used as well. Like I said maybe it depends on the location and the slang terms that are used.
Thanks for you opinion! I appreciate it.
