I'm sure a lot of you figured this out by now but I just realized it so maybe it'll help others.

The CPU doesn't choose the starting pitcher out of random. It matches up with # starter you choose. For example, you pick your #3 starter for the game, the CPU will take the #3 or 3rd Best SP on the roster and face you. You pick your #5, the CPU will choose it's 5th best SP.

Just want to share that so it may help you in matchups.

I’ve gotten their ace the last two times I did that... I selected my 5th starter

I find if I have multiple guys with the same over in my lineup it throws it off and the cpu just throws out whoever. If they are at least one over off of each other it let's me pick who I want to face no problem.

This is only in Conquest, This does not apply to VS CPU in a 9 inning game.

It only works like that in Conquest, not if you play against CPU to complete a mission like "beat team x on allstar or higher"

Thats how it works for me in DD. The pitching matchups in play vs cpu are based on the overalls of the pitchers in your rotation. It doesnt matter what order you put your pitchers in.

Example - If your pitcher in the #3 slot has a higher overall that your #1 Starter (and has the highest overall of any pitcher in your rotation)......your #3 pitcher is technically your ace and the computer decides that when you match vs the cpu. The computers top rated pitcher would then also be selected. Ace vs Ace.

Yes, it works for me this way vs CPU and Conquest. The CPU starter is relative to mine. 100%.

In vs CPU games you will get the same pitcher every time no matter who you start. But it does seem to rotate maybe weekly or so. So one day you will get everybody's ace no matter who you start and the next week you will get every teams 3rd pitcher. Not sure why this is.

I have never seen this at all. Whenever I grind a game on all star for a program I set my line up a certain way because I know who I'm facing depending on who I choose. Been that way for me since day 1
