How is there not a setting for this? It is easier to get good pci placement on a ball on the corner than it is on a ball halfway between down the middle and at the top/bottom of the zone. Makes zero sense

That’s just because it’s easier to jam the stick in a certain direction, rather than place it exactly where you want it in the zone.

Top players can move the PCI to the exact spot they want it, and don’t just jam it down or up like a lot of us do.

I agree with this. I swear it feels like the sensitivity changes from day to day and sometimes game to game depending on the pitcher. Most pitches on the corners I take because it's a ball. At least give us the option to adjust it.

Playing with the PCI is like playing in T-Cam in F1 Sims.

I use cheap Wal-Mart thumb sticks and while they do offer more precise movement they can also accentuate the problem if you're too spazzy on the sticks like I sometimes can be. I do prefer the raised thumb stick overall though.

Thanks for telling me. 15 years into this game and I still yank down on pitches middle/middle.

Kontrol freaks help a bit, but they won’t help you spazz less. It’s once you start to spazz less, the kontrol freaks will start to help a lot more as you can be more precise will smaller adjustments on the stick.

Best tip is to constantly move the PCI around before the pitch and remind yourself how little you need to move the stick to go top to bottom or left to right. Make sure you can comfortably reach all the corners without adjusting your thumb that sort of stuff.

Orrrrrrr if the problem is really bad, at one point I used the jam the stick up to the top of the zone using the edge at the bottom so I actually couldn’t even pull the stick down without adjusting my thumb. Obviously you can’t hit the low stuff but you can start to read them better for when you do.

Maybe this will help, how about you PCI players go practice with Sniper Elite or Duck Hunt for a little bit, it might help improve your aiming skills so you can hit the baseball better.

@Dudeman22_ get yourself some CQC’s high rise and practice placing the PCI on a spot with your eyes closed. This will improve muscle memory. Sounds dumb but it has helped me

Close your eyes and swing frantically, the go to method of the average DD player.

Agree with this. I’ve used kontrol freaks for 2 years. They’re very comfortable but I feel like they are too precise and over accentuate the movement of the pci. I’ve taken them off this year and my pci placement has improved.
