PS4 Slim vs PS4 Pro
-
Going to keep this on track since this is the MLB forum.
I'm currently rocking the PS4 slim on an older (10yr old 1080p) TV. I get a lot of motion blur when batting but I'm not sure if this is normal.
Anyway I'm think about upgrading to 4k and a PS4 Pro.
Can anyone here definitively say whether the MLB experience is better/worth the upgrade?
I heard Sony exclusives get additional love and I'm curious how much better the experience might be.
Edit: Not getting a PS5 day one so...

Not worth waiting a few months for a PS5??

The game does 4k at 30fps or lower and can be choppy playing at that resolution. The game, I think, is meant to be played at 1080p at 60hz, which the me basic PS4 can do.

I really didnt enjoy the day one jump to PS4 so I won't follow suit with PS5. I blame EA for that mostly.
More curious to see if a 4k setup and a Pro would tide me over until PS5 irons out it's inevitable kinks.

Is that for online or offline as well? I only play offline.

At this point, wait for mlb 21 on ps5.. or even better! On PC if you have a nice rig. It'll look crazy good

The Show looks better on 4k but it plays like doodie. Too many frame rate issues.
-
Ah k. I guess I'll stick to slim and my old TV for now.
-
I suggest a monitor if you really want something to play playstation on. When the ps5 comes out, a monitor with good specs will top everything more than it already does.
-
I wouldn't upgrade to the pro unless you get something better than a 10 year old TV. It would be useless because you wouldn't get the most out of the pro.
-
100% a monitor I have a 8 year old 70 inch samsung TV that would survive a nuke blast plus it heats your house up like a oven and I keep it because i've smashed like 6 new Tvs over the years but trying to play online with that is pure teleportation of pitches. This with a slim pro and normal pro but if offline only not worth upgrading really.
Also not getting ps5 day gonna wait at least a year price won't go down but hopefully a decent selction of games by then.

I have a $6000 PC, The Show 21 would snazzy on it.

I use my PS4 Pro in performance mode in the game settings to get maximum frame rate. It still looks almost the same as 1080p but it seems to always be at 60FPS with the exception being in one or two major league stadiums with runners on base
