I largely stopped playing because this game isn't fun. With the end of the program approaching, I've been trying to make a push to collect stars before the end of the program. In the last 24 hours, the following plays happened:

I’ve tried to explain why this game is so bad this year, it’s difficult to do, because so much is down to feel and so much feels wrong with gameplay. 1.11 has created a brand new set of problems with online play, the game still isn’t much fun or very satisfying, unless you’re a small child who uses directional hitting to hit lots of early swing home runs while your opponent lines out using zone with good input.
While the details of each of the smaller problems which make up the larger problem - Namely, the game feels awful to play - could take up several paragraphs, if not pages, the crux of the matter is that the game doesn’t make sense, doesn’t in any way favour skilled input over nonsensical random outcomes, both in terms of hitting and pitching and 1.11 exacerbated the problem massively.
Unfortunately, OP is absolutely correct that this game is, in fact, utter garbage. I don’t believe there’s any kind of patch that can save it, it’s June, give or take, so half the year and half the game are now gone. Pointless trying to fix anything now, it’s far too late. Bitterly disappointed with ‘20, if it weren’t for ‘18, it would be the worst baseball game I’ve ever played by a long, long way.What a constructive and amazing comment...nope just more whining and stupidity. No the game is not garbage. Yes the higher skilled person will win most of the time and nothing you said is true

I’ve noticed that something so essential like basic fundamentals are terribly wrong in this game. That only means that developers never played real ball.
What are some basic fundamentals that are wrong? Are we talking about basic fundamentals in interface design, programming or baseball gameplay?
It’s not easy to create software that is an exact replica of something that is seen in real life. If it were that easy, Skynet would have done it in 80s and we’d all be dead (all except Sarah Connor and Keith Richards).
Every year in the pre-release streams several of the devs refer to their playing experience when explaining concepts that have been added to or changed in the game. Unfortunately adding to and changing Code can sometimes yield unintended results.
I meant baseball fundamentals are just wrong in the game. That’s a fact. Anyone who has played the game would notice. I’m not saying designing a game is easy but 10 years later I was expecting a cleaner product. More refined. I mean, it is 2020, automobiles are closer to fly than developer are to put this game together.

Wow I knew it wasn't the best year of MLB the show, but I didn’t realize it was Tylerslikewhoa doesn’t even want to play the game anymore bad.

Cars have been mainstream for around 90 years, flying is still a fair way off; video games roughly 40 years... hopefully we will see a near polished product in 50 years or so

Wow the nitpicking from casuals is comical, its not like you see this every game..prolly not even in 20 or 30 games. Its a video game noobs, stuff like this will happen and stuff like this needs patching...its only May....calm down and go have a hot pocket.

So I'm not sure if people posting actually watched your videos, but i went through them all and I have to say these are some pretty bad examples. I get you tried to pull stuff together in 24 hours so it's what you had to work with but there's really only 1 bad thing the HR.

Granderson fly ball. You don't understand what camped means, he's sprinting to the ball lol, then pulls up to take it on the hop because he didn't get there in time. The problem is you didn't provide us the gameplay video, but instead a replay. But based on your replay here's what likely happened in you gameplay screen -- ball is hit far away and in, Granderson is on his horse making a long ranging play, you likely got the extreme catch red indicator , couldn't get there in time, and Granderson being a 70s fielder pulls up and takes it on the hop. Nothing wrong here, could have slid to make the catch especially with backup there.

No one covering 2B. Runner on first, SS is setup for the cutoff on a throw to 3B. You were controlling the 2B and chased the ground ball and couldn't get to it. Ball was immediately thrown in. Nothing wrong here you are just unfamiliar with how cutoffs work in baseball apparently.

Ozzie makes a error reaching for a ball on a back hand. Ok fine. Not picking up the ball is bad, but at the end of the day didn't hurt anything because you still wouldn't have thrown him out. Glitch, yes, but no harm done. You wouldn't have made the play.

Mondesi got tagged because you picked the wrong slide. You chose a hook slide to avoid a tag rather than just hustling in and diving straight to the plate. This is 100% user control. You are trying to avoid a tag rather than just getting to the plate.

Re #2: The catch indicator wasn't red, you can tell how long Granderson is set and where the ball bounces it's not a close play, it's a routine flyball. From a user perspective he should have camped right under it, but the cpu animated him trying to take it side-straddled.
Re #3: It's the SS who's the cutoff in that situation. Problem is that the 2B, who really isn't in any position to keep it in the infield, just gives up after it goes by. You know as well as I do that once it gets into the outfield he still has a responsibility, but he just becomes a spectator.
Re #5: I've never manually chosen slides. Maybe I should. Years past it's never been an issue but I've seen this play happen, to me and my opponent, more frequently this year.
Re #4: After he boots it he might have a play at first still, but the not picking up the ball is buggy as hell. I've seen this happen (to myself and opponents) primarily on squibbers that stay in front of home. The catcher or pitcher never picks the ball up even though it should be an easy out. I'm positive it's a bug that happens because throwing controls are engaged, and the animations for throwing are given priority but can't be executed until he has the ball, so the player is in a state of limbo.
