Has anyone experienced the glitch where you have runners on base and hit a ball in the gap and before they can advance, they run back towards the base they were just at? Or just me?
I think they do that because the runners are coded to be conservative and are trying to avoid getting doubled off because of a line drive out..it is annoying though
That’s not the correct fundamental when it comes to line drives in the gap. But developers aren’t ready for that conversation.

I said it once and I will say it again....you cant have a baseball game made by people who never played any high level baseball.
This game is a disgrace to baseball.
I don’t think I’ve ever said it but may as well say it now. A baseball game made by people who have played high level baseball probably won’t be very good. Software development requires a lot of experience and therefore time.
Unfortunately we are only granted 168 hours in every week. That’s fact.
Somebody who plays or has played high level baseball probably spent around 1/3 of those hours either playing, training, working out, travelling to, promoting or something else to do with baseball.
Another roughly 1/3 sleeping.
Leaving 1/3 available for eating, chores, time with family and friends, showering, watching TV or checking emails, any other leisure activities etc and all the education they need to learn how to design and develop software, not to mention all the practice they would need to actually reinforce what they’ve learnt so that it can be applied to a whole new context (baseball game).
From the sounds of it, a high level baseball player would have had less than an hour a day to dedicate to gaining experience in game development.
I’ll take devs that have 20 years+ experience in game development any day of the week.

I largely stopped playing because this game isn't fun. With the end of the program approaching, I've been trying to make a push to collect stars before the end of the program. In the last 24 hours, the following plays happened:
A homerun I hit that didn't even go over the wall: https://youtu.be/VJEe-SXmw74
Granderson camped under the flyball for the final out, lets it fall in letting the tying run cross the plate: https://youtu.be/PgGfy0Gdf4k
Runner takes a big turn at second, should be thrown out. SS and 2B are playing tummy sticks and nobody is covering the base for the throw behind the runner: https://youtu.be/ki4ozU8uKNU
Ozzie Albies at second commits to trampling the ball into the ground. Can't touch it, cause it might have COVID: https://youtu.be/nqbnwRH9uSc
Adelberto Mondesi (POTM) is gunned down on a very deep flyball. Doesn't touch the plate because... COVID? https://youtu.be/yTmOjkjsP3E
This doesn't include the screen shot of TYLER F'ING O'NEIL hitting a bomb over the bullpen on a CONTACT SWING with the ball NOT IN THE PCI. Same with POTM Didi, but at least he has pop. But this isn't even uncommon.
This all happened in 24 hours. I came to the conclusion... is the game is this [censored] up, why am I bothering to grind out program stars? This is beyond bad...
I’ve noticed that something so essential like basic fundamentals are terribly wrong in this game. That only means that developers never played real ball.

It’s not easy to create software that is an exact replica of something that is seen in real life. If it were that easy, Skynet would have done it in 80s and we’d all be dead (all except Sarah Connor and Keith Richards).
Every year in the pre-release streams several of the devs refer to their playing experience when explaining concepts that have been added to or changed in the game. Unfortunately adding to and changing Code can sometimes yield unintended results.

Why haven’t you all blocked Dbag420? Better question is why hasn’t sds banned him, he is , by far, the most toxic person on these boards. Never contributes anything but personal attacks and excessively aggressive trolling. I blocked him awhile ago and only could see he was posting because you mentioned him several times.
Topics get hijacked and taken into left field far too often. This particular poster is particularly bad imo

Earlier today 1-1 game my opponent gets a late jammed double then a good good hr 3-1

Just a heads up...if you are going to post a thread and name it, "This game is trash" then that means you add nothing of value to this community. Delete it and let the adults talk.
Just curious, when’s the last time you added something of value to the community? The guy posted videos of clear problems that can hopefully be improved. Going after his title of the post is petty and shows your just out to instigate an argument.
Everytime I post I add something of value, Ryan. Unlike you or the OP. What value is he adding to the community with his thread? He posted videos while calling the game trash...that is not productive in anyway possible

I get it thats baseball but i happens to me way to dang much .. i play a Very good players ill give up 6 home runs then i have games where I’m squaring up almost everything and cant even get hits wtf

@Collin_SDS are you ever going to ban the Drewshbag420 guy? Spelling might be wrong, review his post history. See if he is in line with the rules of the forum
@Collin_SDS this poster is actively stalking me and harrassing me.
What have you done to add to this toxic thread and how is the OP not toxic? Or are you a hypocrite?

The game is a mail in this year. Their focus is on the multi platform release in 2021.

I’ve tried to explain why this game is so bad this year, it’s difficult to do, because so much is down to feel and so much feels wrong with gameplay. 1.11 has created a brand new set of problems with online play, the game still isn’t much fun or very satisfying, unless you’re a small child who uses directional hitting to hit lots of early swing home runs while your opponent lines out using zone with good input.
While the details of each of the smaller problems which make up the larger problem - Namely, the game feels awful to play - could take up several paragraphs, if not pages, the crux of the matter is that the game doesn’t make sense, doesn’t in any way favour skilled input over nonsensical random outcomes, both in terms of hitting and pitching and 1.11 exacerbated the problem massively.
Unfortunately, OP is absolutely correct that this game is, in fact, utter garbage. I don’t believe there’s any kind of patch that can save it, it’s June, give or take, so half the year and half the game are now gone. Pointless trying to fix anything now, it’s far too late. Bitterly disappointed with ‘20, if it weren’t for ‘18, it would be the worst baseball game I’ve ever played by a long, long way. -

All the time. Even if the "Buxton" on third base has 99 speed, steal and bragg.

The gameplay is in the worst state it’s ever been. Hitting outcomes bear no relation to the hitting system the developers described, pitching is still way too random, fielding is a disaster, and base running makes no sense at times. The content has been amazing though (especially considering no baseball is being played).
The best way to look at the show this year is like Mario Golf. While it may have baseball in the name (like Mario has golf), it really bears no resemblance to the actual sport it represents and should not be taken seriously. It can still be fun though.

Mario Golf on the NES was great. If you lined the shot up correctly and pressed the meter on time, the ball went where it was supposed to. Sadly, the technology to do that has been lost. I think it has to do with the Towel of Babel or something.

‘17 was the last edition of diamond dynasty where user input had more of an effect than RNG. ‘18 was a mess and I don’t doubt the pop ups and artificially induced line outs with negative exit velos that plagued the game were a direct counter to the slow pitch speeds and huge PCI that we saw introduced for the first time with that edition. It was horrific, yet the RNG factors returned again in ‘19, where we saw SDS attempting to fine tune the nerfs and dice rolls to manipulate statistical outcomes to acceptable levels. It wasn’t the worst effort to date, at times the game was fun and enjoyable, but it was still a clear case of RNG trumping user input. This year, instead of dumping all that nonsense and trying to get back to what originally worked, they’ve somehow convinced themselves that they can successfully pull the wool over the eyes of experienced players with a perfect/perfect system that doesn’t do what it was promised to do, a bunch of good/okays on squared up swings and pitching that might just be the worst aspect of the whole mess. Shocking.

The dreaded perfect perfect 1-6-5-4-3 quadruple play in showdown.
This is my worst nightmare in showdown, and it's actually happened oh nooooooo.

I meant baseball fundamentals are just wrong in the game. That’s a fact. Anyone who has played the game would notice. I’m not saying designing a game is easy but 10 years later I was expecting a cleaner product. More refined. I mean, it is 2020, automobiles are closer to fly than developer are to put this game together.

Cars have been mainstream for around 90 years, flying is still a fair way off; video games roughly 40 years... hopefully we will see a near polished product in 50 years or so
