.800 batting average with perfect/perfect is a lie.
-
At best it is around .300 and that is being generous. Between every single perfect/perfect grounder, liner, and fly ball at least 70% of the time they find a fielders glove. The fly balls in the gap are extra excruciating when you watch the defender get a speed boost and you see his little legs turn into a blur as he gives it his best sonic impression.
-
do you consider wind and where you are playing
-
Perfect/perfect has felt nerfed since last patch imo. Probably been gradually declining with each patch they’ve touched hitting. Don’t sweat it tho, that massive pci “helped” hitting.
-
perfect/perfect grounder is definitely an out more often than the other 2 but it is definitely around an .800 average. I know its frustrating when you hit a few in a row for outs but if you actually track all your perfect/perfect hits and tally them up after a while you will see that your average is higher than you think

Lol. Best advice i can give you is record each of your perfects in a excel spreadsheet or something, because that .300 is so far off it isn't even funny.

For example, I just went and looked at your game log, (if you didn't know, the game tracks perfects/perfects there and tells you the outcome in the game log).
Barring any game that you've played that hasn't shown up, the last 10 perfect/perfects you or your opponent has gotten in your games have all fallen for hits.
Obviously that's not a huge sample size, but to even reach a .300 BA, the next 20 I'd examine would have to be outs to reach a .300 BA -

I had 1 count em 1 perfect/perfect go to the gap for a double in the final set of challenges b4 the final mini boss. And another 4 that went nowhere but the fielder's glove. And that was just the final set of 3.

Yes, but then you have to be specific. I'd agree perfects fall less in showdown, (Still higher then .300, but lower). but you never mentioned showdown once in your main paragraph. The .800 BA you are referring to was online play against users.

I think I remember you did it a month ago? I think your numbers are pretty close to real life. May be inflated because it's an video game.

They were a bit higher actually, I haven't tracked them since, but I would be curious if the patches changed it somewhat, I might have to start doing it again.

Not sure if you knew what I meant. I meant your numbers were much higher, but accurate IMO.

I’m doing a Dodgers MTO and tracking mine. I had one hit the pitcher in the face and bounce to first for an out.

There is no wind in online play . Also hr/9 has no effect
-
Showdown is something altogether different, for whatever reason. Most perfect perfect hits end up being just that, a hit. I have seen some weird stuff, though.
About a week ago, I was caught out by an infielder on a perfect perfect groundball while grinding for innings.
Let that sentence sink in. Lol
-
Have made outs plenty of time on perfect/perfect GROUNDERS that are straight line outs to the INFs’ chests. At least tell me it’s a perfect liner so I’m not lied to -_-

Sorry I should have been more specific. SO when the devs were talking about it before release they meant specifically player vs player? I guess that could make some more sense than vs cpu.

I collected data from showdown a while ago. I hit .769 on perfects over the course of six showdowns.

That was all pre-1.04. They added more randomized outcomes in that patch so the .800 average thing isn’t a thing anymore (jack’s study notwithstanding).

I been doing the same. And I'm hitting easily over .800 with perfect/perfect. Wish they can add a feature to keep track of your hitting results in next years game.
