You are the one that is delaying the game. He is only trying to counter you.
The sportsmanlike thing to do once your opponent sees you are taking an extra step lead and throws over/steps off a few times, is to stop taking an extra step and move your runner with the bat.
No you are delaying the game, learn how to pitch with runners on base and them taking the extra step won’t have any affect.
Strong words. Considering the state of this game, it’s a safe assumption that we all pitch with runners on pretty often.
Let me guess, you take an extra step with your speedy runners?

Its been said, but people who take an extra step should hear from all of us, so to pile on.
STOP TAKING A EXTRA STEP!
Learn how to pitch with runners on. Just to let you know i don’t take the extra step either
Stepping off and picking off is part of pitching, they should learn how to steal with out the extra step. If not stealing then they do not need the extra step, in MLB the show, they will eventually get picked off. I had 4 pick offs in one game. My opponent finally stop taking extra step. 2nd Base is easy to pick people off.
Stepping off is part off pitching when it’s you only move it no longer pitching your just afraid cause you can’t stop them.
Opponent is afraid he can not get to 2nd without the extra lead goes both ways, I am not giving up an extra base just because opponent takes an extra lead and the fact I will eventually pick him off
That might be true, working both ways doesn’t change anything on other persons end. Your just both afraid. Guess I just see it different, take the step all you want. That step is going to lead you to scoring and if it does it’s only one run. Late in the game I see your side in the 1st inning nah.

Nope I don’t need too. I don’t pitch with runners on often once out of All Star setting. On All Star setting take 2nd all you want, goal not to give up a crooked number. Have 3rd too. -

Have 3rd too.The goal is to win not let runners on and not to give up free bases. A player has every right to take an extra lead and a player has every right to throw over as much as they want or stepping off as much as they wantboth are delaying the game. Coming on the form to complain about someone stepping off or throwing over when they are delaying the game by taking the extra step. This is not I will give you a free base or a free run just because you should be able to take an extra step and I have to ignore it. Unlike 19 you will get picked off playing me.

To the original topic, the player repeatedly taking an extra step is the one delaying the game. Countering a move my opponent makes is not delaying the game. We can agree to disagree.

3rd base is the easiest base to steal with 2 outs

So be it, not even sure what point you are trying to make. Did I say you shouldn’t throw? Or even step off for that matter? Don’t believe I did and if I did that’s not what I meant.
Someone said people taking a extra step delays the game and they should show sportsmanship and not do it. I said they are the one delaying it, in truth they both are.

I agree, I do not know exactly I was just responding to what you been posting. it is more about the original post than anything, I think the OP post was dumb in the first place to complain about stepping off as delaying the game when the extra step delays the game. That is my point.
-
Yeah, I wasn’t saying it’s unsportsmanlike to try an extra step. I said it is unsportsmanlike to keep doing it after your opponent steps off and throws over a few times, and suggested he move his runners with the bat.

The only guys that argue this point are the ones that constantly take extra steps. If they make it to WS, then they seem to feel particularly entitled to it, because they keep getting rewarded for it.
