SDS fix for starters out of pen
-
With the Opener Strategy getting more popular last season, i think you should be still able to bring in a SP but not after the 2nd Inning.
-
Just add it to the laundry list of things SDS needs to have transparency with the community about. Like if you like the game the way it is fine but at least tell us so we can stop playing and move onto other games because if they keep this up for the rest of the year a lot of people will not be preordering the game next year including myself.
Enough is enough its been 3 years of the same thing and they clearly haven't learned even though it is one of the top things brought up in the yearly survey
-
They just need to let you add certain level SP to the bullpen. I like to use Bryse Wilson, hes not good enough to be in my top 5 for starters, but he is effective enough that I like to use him to eat some innings and give my regular bullpen arms a break. But I agree diamonds shouldnt be coming in as relief pitchers.

I remember that this was in the game a couple years ago and the same thing happened.... There's no good reason to have a starter come into the game...there's no injuries. All starters should have maybe 10 percent stamina when coming in....or just like a couple years ago get rid of it

Or it gives them conquest stamina after the 4th inning

That’s only real solution to it in my opinion. They should start with the same stamina as they would in BR or conquest.
This would also help (but not fix) seeing Kluber and Newhouser every other game.
-
I think even a single game for starters to be unavailable after they’ve pitched could be a pretty good solution.
Bringing in Ohtani for a bat is pretty sweet, and not a huge game breaking issue. The opener option, OP as it is, is also pretty cool even though I haven’t used it. But being able to do it with Newhouser and Kluber as a L/R combo game after game is too much.
They should have to sit at least one game. You would have the ability to still do everything they’ve added like have Charlie Morton open, or Ohtani pitch/hit and lose the ability to abuse it. Like bring in Kluber during that extremely high leverage 3rd inning of a 2-2 ranked season game with no runners on. Maybe if they can’t pitch him next game they’ll bring in a RP for those two outs.
-
Maybe if they didn’t give relievers terrible stamina people would bring in starters less. Tell me how a relief pitcher starts getting tired after throwing 8 pitches. SDS is clueless and might as well be brain dead.

They need to nerf the recovery too, where if you pitch past the 4th with a starter then he is unavailable for 3 games.

It’s it’s 2-2 in the third I doubt anyone would bring in a reliever anyway unless the starter was getting shelled that inning l, gave up 2 and had them loaded with no outs
-
They could’ve easily let us choose our starter, but not bring them out later in the innings. Like keep the choice to pick a pitcher, but he can’t come into relief, unless you run out of all your bullpen arms.
-
It should take the starters 2-3 innings to get 75% warmed up, like in real life. Or just have an option where it's a random pick. Risk/reward.
-
They need to just let players use one starter per game. If you wish to use the opener strategy, then by all means...have a guy pitch the first inning or two, bring in the starter. sure. It just gets old only facing one of two pitchers to start a game...then facing the other one in the second half of the game.
But...people will abuse anything given because we are all terrible and deserve to die.
-
Here's something to consider.
Maybe all those perfect input pitches "warp" over the plate because the pitchers are not using maximum effort, so they can pitch consecutive games or come in relief over and over like back in the early decades.
They are all Iron Man McGinnity.

I totally agree, which means they probably aren’t going to pinch hit for him either. Nobody should be pinch hitting and replacing pitchers that early.. The only reason they are is because there is no reason not too. If people can pinch hit, put another starter in, and complete the process every 2-3 innings I don’t know why they wouldn’t. Especially when the stamina lost isn’t going to overweigh what they get back after the game. They can do it forever.
The one game unavailable after pitching means SDS won’t need to adjust stamina in any weird way or change recovery rates and when/how quickly they work, while still getting rid of the nonsense.
-
When there is some better relievers available this will not be a problem anymore there is not 1 reliever besides 1 gold in any team affinity and maybe 5-10 decent diamonds on market most starters don't have the clutch pitching of relievers
