Changes they’ve made this year
-
@CoachPappy17_PSN no one cares about your opinion in regards to you cannot stand online. We have all had enough of the offline players complaining. Nothing wrong with players who want to flip cards. I think that makes for a healthy market. Let people do and play how they want.
Ooh, I ran into an forum bully… too bad I’m too old to care, lol.. you have your opinion, I have mine… I’m not trying to censor you, don’t censor me.
I will mention that when people flip cards, they change the market for everyone, they are not letting me play how I want. They are forcing everyone else to play with a manipulated market.
-
Old guy here as well. This forum gets a whole lot better when you use the “block user” feature.

-
He has been trying to shut down any opinion that does not sync with his own for a while. Just the other day he replied to me with this
I dont know why anyone takes you seriously and acts like you are so smart. You are an offline exclusively player. And admitted you are not remotely good at the game.
Like you, I am too old to let it alter my posting behavior and feel like it says more about him than it does me.
Oh, and to show how it is done. I am not a flipper and I don't agree with your take on stopping flipping altogether but have no problem with you posting it.

Im hardly a forum bully. The majority of the complaining is by offline players, complaining about having to play online. If its not offline, its content complaints. Every single day. We all complain about different things like pack odds etc. But its been literally all day long with you guys everyday . Im also older. I go online plenty. So thats not an excuse. The majority of you are scared to lose. There are great rewards and ways to progress in the game. But you have to play both.
Being older only means we will never be great. But we can be pretty good.
-
The majority of the complaining is by offline players
That is just flat out incorrect. Maybe it was true last weekend during that program but as a general rule I would say online players complain far more than offline players.
I am not saying all of those complaints are invalid or dismissing them because server errors and connection issues are a definite problem that need to be resolved.
-
@Dolenz_PSN offline complains more. There are more of you though. Certain offliners are usually in every complaint. Complaints aren’t restricted to one or the other.
-
Offline players deserve respect. This game title has absolutely ignored the offline modes for multiple years, and this year it seems they have also decided to throttle down on online and offline options in DD to earn the trinkets these DD players crave. The theme?
Monetization!
There is no other explanation.
When you deliberately degrade the offline modes, focus on the online modes and DD in general, and then entice players to get hooked on DD, and then follow that up with hurting the community market, the ability to trade, and making it harder and harder to earn rewards, the final option to upgrade is to spend real money on tokens.
That's the strategy and it's been obvious for a number of years now.

That's an extremely rude reply. If this forum had proper moderation, the proper actions in response would have been made. When you openly say you don't care, then your entire purpose for being here is proved rancid.
-
Yeah, @ditka06-_mlbts isn't wrong. Offline players are the people who demand the most from SDS. They also request a free card from SDS even when the servers go down once.
-
Some of you really only believe what you want to believe
-
@CoachPappy17_PSN ??? Flipping cards is one of the only ways to make stubs in the game without paying exorbitant amounts of real world money???
If they do that, they'll lose the NMS players, which seem to represent a sizable chunk of their yearly player base.
-
@LadySwampfox_XBL see I agree they’ll lose NMS but given the moves I’ve listed I think that’s what they are trying to do already. The fantasy/investing aspect has been all but removed and now they are trying to remove flipping. Pretty obvious with the moves made this year the intentions are to push out NMS. I don’t understand why they are doing it so hard this year when the team handling diamond dynasty/live series is relatively the same as past years.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL I wouldnt expect any different type of reply from an offline player. Yeah moderate me because I said i dont care about the constant complaints about offline players not wanting to go online. Typical cancel generation response.
I have to play offline all the time. Do you hear us coming on here everyday complaining about it? No our response is to you guys.
You dont understand how much offline play makes us so much worse at the game when we get back online. Thats a real gameplay complaint. You cannot compare even hall of fame vs the cpu to all star online. Its night and day.
-
@Good-Talk-Bud_XBL I think the 20 card cap and the extended time between RU's is the biggest, most obvious shove towards the MTX store I've seen in a long time. While not pay to win, it's definitely a major shift towards "Pay to Earn". Widely panned and incredibly unpopular...so naturally they'll likely keep moving forward with it.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they lower the cap even further. There's two ends to this mean, and both generally favour SDS. First, the NMS players are driven away completely...leaving SDS free to further monetize the game entirely. Secondly, some of those NMS players are so desperate for a good game they convert to spending money...leaving SDS free to further monetize the game.
Offline players won't be exempt from this either, you'll see more and more things in RTTS, Franchise be added to the MTX options(sponsorship packs for Franchise, additional premium equipment packs for RTTS)
Unless some real competition steps up soon, I don't think we can expect too many things to improve unfortunately.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL This game has regularly tended to offline players.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN well put, my hope is next year a lockout is likely when mlb the show usually drops so the hype for baseball will be down aswell it’s gonna be only a few months after GTA drops. Those factors along with how poorly this year has went will likely hurt sales drastically next year. Hopefully resulting in them reverting some of the greedy changes made this year

Ive see you complain about it every week since the game came out including the previous comment you made in this thread. Did you think you were signed in on the burner or something?

Everybody has a different tipping point. I can dig up posts of mine from 3 or so years ago where I was complaining about their steady march towards monetization.
- Fewer stubs in rewards
- Expensive packs (Duos, Chase, Headliners)
- More collections that require...
- Pack cards that used to be in programs
- Making almost all offline rewards including pack cards No Sell
I am sure I could probably come up with more that led us to where we are now.
Flippers just didn't notice those as much since none of those were their primary method of gaining stubs.
Per card limits and fewer updates are just the latest.

@DeleteyourTTVBTW_MLBTS you have seen me complain about two things. And ive made a total of three forum posts all year. Pack odds and the odds to even get good packs. The lack of online programs, that they took away. And the occasional game play issues. All of these are relevant complaints.
I dont want to play online cause im not a good player, im scared to lose, or they arnt giving me enough content. Are not valid complaints. All these complaints are doing is slowing down progress to fix real issues.
-
@Ditka06-_MLBTS So, to surmise, all your complaints are valid, everyone else's are not.
The arrogance is astounding.
