Yeah I know, but Jeter is probably the most recognizable face/name in baseball maybe ever thats not in the game.
Jeter's not even the most recognizable former Yankee shortstop that's not in the game. Plus, I think you're vastly underestimating Aaron's appeal.
Another thing to consider: they're not going to make the game's "star" a NYC-centric player for the 4th year in a row. (Ruth, Mays, Mantle).

Gallo, Amir Garrett, and Blake Snell have all three been great ambassadors for this game during the shut down. I like the idea of the winner getting the cover, especially if it’s one of those three.

The cover in my mind shouldn’t even be a question.
Roberto Clemente with his number 21 as the logo for the year emblem.
What better way to bring him in? He is beloved in all of baseball and is still a massive name.
