June countdown yikes
-
I have spun the wheel twice already, and I was gone for 11 days during this inning. I did not do any of the June Program except the fist 20 or 30 stars (not enough to even get Britton). How are some of you still not getting enough XP for the innings?
Don't you get bonuses for playing at higher difficulties and playing online? I know you do for PXP but I am finding straight XP information harder to come by.
-
@Dolenz_PSN you do get more xp for online which if you only play offline you can help offset this buy playing a harder difficulty. You still have to perform online to actually get that xp tho. But it you barely playing game and hoping to get to the boss you might want to switch up your approach. Maybe just play online events. That way you progress but the multiplayer pass and inning pass

Not really hoping for anything. I asked because it was asked how people did not make it to the bosses. I was simply wanting to clarify how it worked since I could not find a definitive answer online (or in the game)
If Someone is playing Ranked at Hall of Fame or even playing the CPU on legend then won't they progress down the XP Path much quicker than someone playing conquests and Mini seasons on Veteran? I assume that is why some people don't have it done.
And while this is the first year that I have not earned any bosses in the first half of the season I fully understand that a big part of that is me playing less due to playing other games.
But another contributing factor is that SDS has not given me many reasons to play. I have not played a single game since the Live Stream. The cards in the new program, for me, were not not worth the hassle of playing online and the one card I wanted from Spotlight Program is a rare card in a pack so I know the odds of earning that card through play are very slim.
The last Cardinal cards earnable through play (and not in a pack) were Matt Carpenter on 5/29 and Ozzie Smith and Bruce Sutter on the 5/15. Here's hoping the the Cardinals lone All-Star (probably Jordan Walker) is also not tucked away in a pack.

Getting XP information is stubbornly difficult. I’ve actually started a threat about a month and a half ago trying to get some, and I realized right away no one really knows. The big XP gains I got were not really from my actual play online. I sucked. The XP gains were from meeting certain, minimal requirement of the multiplayer programs.
Just checked: 10000 XP from the event program and 10000 XP from multiplayer.

@Pergo_MLBTS some people expect to turn the game on a couple nights per week, complete whatever program or conquest is new, and get enough xp to finish the entire inning program. They expect everything to be earned thru cpu bashing on rookie.
I get it–they dont want to play online, but if sds structured the game that way than the larger community of online players would leave. Its a numbers thing.
I think they shorted both the online and offline community this year, and people are mad about that.
I for one don't expect [censored]. I'm a 99.98% offline player. I'm a somewhat casual, casual player who is 50k from finishing the xp path. I have 950kish stubs banked. If I don't play play a mode I don't expect the rewards as it should. Thinking otherwise IMHO would be illogical on my part. The only reason why I refuse to play multi-player is because of the constant toxicity. My playing time is very limited during the week, so when I do play with my limited time I choose not to waste my time dealing with toxic scumbags that populate the multi-player ranks. One disclaimer I do know not everyone is a toxic scumbag in multi-player. I am glad they tried something new, did play it heck no, do I wish that they included some more offline stuff, yes. All that being said, I ain't [censored] hurt because it was mostly multi-player (online), I still got Acuna anyways, just without the toxic [censored] of multi-player.
Edit: also forgot to mention, I also completed LS collection, I am 2 or 3 vouchers from Miguel, ways off on Martinez, in 3 or 4 weeks I should be close to Martinez.

@Dolenz_PSN By some sheer miracle I got the boss pack last night. With 9 days to go. I didn't change how much I play either. I think some of the programs heavy with XP helped me out a good chunk too
-
I think making the xp 300k instead of 400k at least made it reasonably completable without online play. Still not as easy as its been historically, but doable without making it a second job. But its also going to take far more than just completing the programs.
What really happened was the year they changed xp to be program driven they nerfed the gameplay xp, but didnt really matter because the track was easy to complete outside of one screwed up inning.
This year has less program xp but they didnt buff the gameplay xp to compensate.

@Teak2112_MLBTS how much lower they gotta go lol . Some of yall might not make it still. At some point it’s just gonna need to be handed out to put a stop this madness. It really isn’t far to the people who earn it for actually spending their time to get the boss.

I think its reasonable to expect it to be similar in effort to past years
The tinfoil hat theory is its slowed down on purpose so they can charge for faster xp next year, but Im doubtful they go that route. yet. I think 'premium stubs' with better odds packs is next
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS if they gotta turn the boss into a perfect attendance award so be it. It would atleast kill this complaint. Wdym charge for xp?

As much as this is the way the gaming industry is going...I'm probably done if that's truly the case.
On the flip side, that model in particular is only successful in games as a Live service/platform style. It won't fly on an annual release

EA and 2K print money with it

I JUST got the Steve Carlton card.
Triple XP week? Maybe??

Edit to add: I’m comparing my progress this year to last year I completed every inning last year, except one. (Vacation). I’m was playing the same amount, but getting nowhere near the boss pack. Wheel spins, I’m not upset about. Although I got several wheel spins during innings last year.
So, SOMETHING has changed. I still play vs CPU on Veteran. Still am finishing every program in the Programs tab (except online). Done WBC mini seasons more times than I care to remember. Yet, I am nowhere near a boss pack. And this player is not happy about that. Especially when I see an online program with 90k XP attached to it.
-
Here are the most recent programs
- June Countdown (online) - 90K XP and 86K Stubs and 2 sellable Cards
- Moonshot Event (online) - 10K XP and a Sellable Card
- Current Multiplayer Program (online) - 60K XP and 6.5K stubs and 5 sellable cards
- Summer Program (offline) - 10K XP and 500 stubs and no sellable cards
- Vintage Program (offline) - 10K XP and 500 stubs and no sellable cards
- Pack Palooza (offline) - 5K XP
Online Programs - 160K XP, 92.5K stubs, 8 Sellable cards
Offline Programs - 25K XP and 1,000 stubsSo to me it seems pretty obvious how some people get to the boss packs and some don't. Add in any bonuses for online play and higher difficulties and it becomes pretty clear. It also explains why offline players have a harder time affording players we want if we don't flip cards.
SDS needs to try and find a better balance. Risk upsetting the top 10% and the Bottom 10% in order to better serve the 80% in the middle.

@Onix_Savage22_PSN More about paying for Nintendo Online, which I don't ever use, because I play all my online multiplayer games on PC.
I used up my free trial to do some other program a year or two ago, and found online pretty boring. Two singles in a 3 inning game isn't a given, and who wants to have to play more than one.
-
@Dolenz_PSN you failed to mention xp you get from any offline mode outside of programs. The only thing online got that you didn’t was the event and June countdown which are both time limited.
-
Look I get it, not everyone wants to grind a game which is designed around grinding or paying. But you can’t really say you don’t have the opportunities to collect bosses and get wheel spins. Granted some people have too much in life going on, I get it and I can’t stand online, simply because I’m just not that good, so I only grind it when a mission requires it. But my goal is to complete each inning this year and try to collect everything and being able to complete everything available by doing it efficiently has insured I’ve doubled each innings XP max this season. My overall point is if you really want to get these things then you’ve gotta be willing to put in the time to get them and if your not then that’s fine too, but you can’t really complain about not being able to collect xp if you don’t have the time or interest to do so.

It is absolutely valid to complain that it takes more effort this year, and its not like they have increased the rewards to offset that. The notion that we should accept things becoming less player friendly is absurd.
While I wouldnt call DD an elitist mode, its certainly become less casual over the last two years.
-

15k per mini season (I think a few years ago this was 60k) and 4k per conquest typically.
Also the spotlight programs, and the cornerstone is a good chunk usually
This inning doesnt seem that bad, if countdown 60k was available offline we would probably be pretty close to how things used to be.
-
I think i said this on another post. Offline your biggest complaint seems to be lack of xp. The xp path rewards are weak besides the bosses, so why is this such a huge complaint? The other thing im hearing..is alot of you do not play online because you are not good at the game. We all started off bad at the game. Im sorry just sounds like excuses. As far as the toxicity and cheating, turn off the news, its not that bad. Maybe one out of 10 games you'll run into a toxic player. And I rarely come across someone that i think is cheating.
