SDS - the computer throws way too many balls
-
This is why ill never understand the absolute refusal by some to play online. Its not like offline doesn't have its major negatives either. Are some of you really going to tell me you would rather play the cpu and watch them throw ball after ball? I think alot of you.. not all of you. Not generalizing everyone..are just scared to lose. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me.

@D_e_m_I_s_E_MLBTS this is the way…..

I hate playing online and only do when there’s no other way to get a reward I want. Pretty much every ranked game I’ve ever played is like moonshot event - against me. I do enjoy online when I’m matched with someone that doesn’t crush me, but that’s rare. Literally dozens of reasons I prefer offline. I enjoy playing offline and it would be awesome if at least one of the settings included cpu that throws hittable pitches more often. I can appreciate the way the game is, but sometimes, when I play video games, I just want to push the buttons and hit things. Not exercise patience.

@rubicante23_PSN I feel like most want the punching bag so they can quickly grind stats. I know I don’t want “grind games” vs cpu to take forever. Now conversely speaking, if you want the challenge, that’s what HOF and legend are for. I feel like that’s the way it should be set up. But it’s not.

The thing with online for me is a lot of time I feel like my time is wasted because I am not great at hitting. And when you run into people who are good at hitting it makes it take even longer for you to receive basically no progress towards anything
And yes, its not fun when you are struggling to get hits while your opponent hits everything you throw (NOT cheaters either). And there are times when I face someone who is even worse than me at hitting, and those games arent fun either.
When you get that fabled even match it can be a lot of fun, but for me online is only fun when that happens.
I played online more when progress wasnt so heavily tied to offensive stats. When innings mattered more I could at least chip away at the program. Now Im playing a mode thats only fun when the stars align and barely making progress for it.
The lack of progress is the same reason i dislike Showdown. While I finish them on the first shot most of the time, when you dont it feels like you just wasted 30-45 minutes of your time with nothing to show for it.

Yeah not everything needs to be a hair pulling grind. Even the computer on rookie throws 80 percent balls.
One piece of advice for any online player or if you are thinking about playing online. Never play vs the cpu on less than all star difficulty....ever. never get your brain used to lower speeds. One time on rookie can mess your entire game up. This is why online players hate playing offline.

@TheJeweledLotus_PSN I agree with you that cpu plays dumb in lots of ways, which is so annoying to me.
Most people dont care - they just want cpu to be punching bag. They dont want challenging play from cpu, just quick stats.
Game companies in all games dont care - they want you online. Thats when people spend - they buy stuff there, because they worry their team isn't as good as others.
So, noone cares - and thats why cpu still plays like its a dumb robot from 2005.
Where's all the new AI? Isn't this exactly what all the new AI tech should be good at? Making a good cpu experience that mimics real human play?

I don't care what the rewards are what the grind is. Yeah im ranting right now. It is not worth it to play vs the cpu on anything less than all star. Not gonna mess up my game to grind offline stats. I just wont get the card.
