They’re taking action!
-
I was on the game while it was happening and chose not to participate. It’s not everyone, but I say the people who ‘missed’ or chose not to do it are prob the minority of the DD community
I highly doubt that.
You’re saying more people didn’t do it than did it?
Yes, and I would guess that is by a rather large margin. Remember this came to a head over one night (May 30/31) and was band-aided the following morning. Most people probably were not aware of it until it was no longer viable.
Agree with you here. I think the numbers that did it are probably much lower then everyone thinks. We need to remember that the majority of players don't follow streamers, aren't on this forum/reddit, and just play the game and probably never even knew the exploit existed.
-
@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN they specifically stated they are taking action against those accounts. That only means one thing. Banned! Or maybe reset back to the beginning. Have to grind again..
Restarting from the beginning won't bother streamers. They can just buy stubs, since they can right them off on their taxes, and buy theyre whole team again.
Yeah, they'll have to grind everything that isnt purchasable. But how is that a punishment?
They'll have ALL that content to replay.

Considering all the BS we threw at SDS(deservedly so) This is a refreshing step in the right direction. Regardless, if they did something or didn’t, there will be outrage from one side or the other. However, the idiotic argument of “other people cheated too!!” Is an absolute joke. This is the right decision simply to keep SOME integrity in game. I applaud SDS personally.

All you dumb pack glitch cheaters better stay off this post. Your excuses are not valid and we dont care. We are in the right you are in the wrong period. Get lost. Go walk to the bathroom look in the mirror and tell yourselves. I deserve this i need to improve my morals.
I don't like cheaters and I certainly condemn people who hack other peoples' computers or computer code.
But, let me ask this honest question. What exactly did these people do that in any way altered how the game code operated? I think that is a very critical question. The TOS speaks about exploiting a weakness in the game code, but the intent of that was to me at least using that weakness to reverse engineer cheat code.
SDS left the back door wide open for this. So, it seems to me that the primary culprit here is SDS for failure to properly test their game code before release.
To my eye, this is sort of like playing a video game offline from the past -- before online play come to the fore -- and realizing that the game code allowed one to bunt endlessly for singles. I remember a baseball game written for Sega console where that exact option was present. Was it cheating to exploit a weakness in the CPU fielding?
Kind of like that famous use of the Bo Jackson exploit in that Techmo Bowl football video game. Would it be cheating if a player realized what the virtual Bo could do in that game and decided to use it? In all the commentary I have heard about this famous exploit, I have never heard anyone assert blame on people who played the game and chose to play the Bo Jackson character for all it was worth. Since this was in 1989, the exploit was widely used in online play, and I still don't recall people demanding folks be banned for using the Jackson character.
-
I played quite a bit that day and did not exploit anything. Let's hope they don't mess up and ban anyone who's nnocent but I bet that's bound to happen also.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL maybe you didnt read my above comments I can care less about your excuses or anyone else's excuses. If a bank leaves their fault open by mistake you dont get to go in there and rob it. Everything else you said. I dont care. You are barking up the wrong tree.

Well, you're not God and you're not going to play God here nor anywhere else. Frankly, your opinion is yours and does not influence my views one iota. If you cannot comprehend that reality, then you're the one who has issues that need working on!

@PriorFir4383355_XBL im no way shape or form a god. I do have moral code though. And that code doesnt let me cheat at a dumb video game in any way shape or form. When I know my fellow gamers are doing the right things right along side me. Same as in life. I dont cheat my fellow man to get ahead in life. Your views are maybe the problem with society as a whole. Get lost enjoy your ban. Try being a stand up man for once in your life. Change. Because you think like a little boy.
Btw im the first one to call out sds on their bs.

Perhaps you are truly incapable of understanding anything other than a singular point of view. I have written here many, many times that I have not even purchased MLB 26. In some of these threads you even liked my post that contained that fact.
Yet, here you are, so filled with rage, that you practically accuse me of cheating the game.
I sincerely hope you comprehend where you are going very wrong here and adjust your tone.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL ok fair enough. Just do not defend the pack glitchers in any way is all im asking then. They do not deserve a defense or an excuse. I do agree with some of your other posts. Yes im passionate about this subject.

Looks like people have been banned from the Marketplace, let’s hope they lose their cards too.
-
Well, that’s what I was waiting for. Depending on what their “action” is, I might reload the game on my ps5. I missed it a little. But not enough to compensate for how pissed I was that SDS didn’t care at all about their good and honest customers.
-
Just popping in to say how ecstatic I am as well that they say they are taking action. I am curious as to what it will be, but their statement leaves me hopeful that it will be significant.
-
Just curious, would there be such enthusiasm for banning everyone who benefitted from a homer call when they really just sent a ball foul over the dugouts? I mean is there a significant difference here between benefitting from that game code bug and this one?
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL very much so. An in game home run doesn’t impact the marketplace like an absurd influx of packs does nor does a home run impact SDS’ bottom line like the pack exploit did
-

I think you're getting close to the real issue at the heart of all this, and that is money -- meaning SDS estimations of lost post-game sale revenue streams because if the community market is "flooded" by high value cards that means fewer players are likely to plop real money down to purchase stubs to purchase what were designed by SDS to be very limited in numbers and therefore listed for extremely high stub "prices."

@Sir-Robotto_XBL all while facing deGrom and Miz over and over again
-
Good, get rid of the toxic players in this community.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL just stop it brother. Digging yourself a hole.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL you don’t play the game but you are in these forums?
