To be fair, I will readily admit that I would lose this game 9/10 times regardless of circumstances. That being said, holy [censored]! Talk about completely one-sided RNG. Good Lord!
I should have known it would be a long day when his first two batters hit early/ok ground balls through the infield haha. Even with that it was 0-0 and he had two outs in the third. But that's when the fun happened. He hits an early swing HR...but that happens when you have the ALL the best cards in the game already. Then with two outs still, he hits a fly ball to CF and my guy...let's it hit him in the chest! I walk the next guy so he's got 1st and 3rd. He hits another fly ball to CF and...it hits him in the chest! I can't freakin make this stuff up lol.
Meanwhile I'm doing things like inputting perfect line drive swings with FotF Soto (and his triple digit power) and the ball is dying on the warning track. Until a two-out single in the 9th, literally every swing I had with "good" or better contact was an out.
Ended up losing 8-0. Shouldn't have been that lopsided but even without RNG I would have lost. But how often do you get a chance to play someone like that? The competitive side of me was stoked to see how I stacked up and I feel like RNG just took over and never gave me a chance.
-
There's no question that guys like Rebel, Notorious etc. are amazingly good at putting the PCI on the ball. Still, look at the lineups of all the top guys. There's a reason why all of them have Mantle, Biggio etc.
-
Granted, it was against CPU, but I hit a very early/slightly rolled over Homer with Biggio. Is that possible IRL?
-
A lot of what happens in this so called "sim" doesn't happen in real life. That is why you have MLB players in the players league almost swearing on twitch!!!

Yeah....polo grounds.

I'm not sure how to read your thread. You make the arguments that RNG and the fact that he has every card in the game made the game one sided, but at the same time you say you would've probably lost regardless.
Assuming that you played Rebel, the guy is pretty much a machine in this game and his PCI placement is near perfect. He's not unbeatable, but I don't think that the so called RNG or the fact that he has all the cards are the decisive factors in his success. -

Gibsons HR against Eck was like that. Out on his front foot, rolled his wrist over it on a pitch away, and still hits it out.

Yea, SDS fan boys don't believe me but this is a common scene for these top/ws players. They seem to get a lot of bs on their side. I played 4 games on Saturday and was on the good side the first two and bad side the last two. Game played completely diffferent. A lot of people on here, that have zero clue how internet affects video games, don't think internet affects games. They think someone playing on fiber will have the same experience as someone playing on wifi out in the middle of nowhere.
There is a chance these people could be right next to the server and there is no code in the game to allow for that. Kind of like the old COD host advantage. When this was happening the host of the game was seeing things exactly as they were since they were technically the server for the game. The rest of the people were getting delayed information causing the host to have an advantage. You idiots that question me on this feel free to look this information up. Also look up OOO players in former Battlefield games and how their high ping was giving them an advantage. Highly doubt the top/ws players have low ping. More than likely they are just in the sweet spot.
The more likely scenario is there is a ping sweet spot when the game plays extremely good. Everyone has these but I suspect the top/ws players are in them more. These are the games where you make no errors, fastballs seem a little slower, more hits fall, bad contact rewarded more, pitches can actually be located. I had 2 of these games myself Saturday and easily handled my opponent. The next two were complete opposite. The opponents were not any better. They could just hit my non-stop pitches down the middle and I flew out to the warning track 10 times per game. Completely opposite games just due to something in the connection. Absolutely nothing to do with the opponents. If all my games were like the first two Saturday, I would hardly ever lose. Like the last two Saturday and I would hardly ever win. I think the ping sweet spot is probably around 100 but that is just speculation without knowing the exact numbers. SDS has access to these. If you looked at every ping of every top player, you would see a clear pattern on where that sweet spot is.
You'll see these SDS fan boys come on here and dispute my thread. These people have absolutely no idea how online gaming works. Take my Saturday games. I know I wasn't that much better than my opponent. I knew the first two games I was on the good side of the ping and bad the last few. If SDS was to show the ping on the pitching match screen, you would probably notice the top people being in the same area. More than likely around 100 I would guess but again this is just speculation without access to the real numbers. SDS wouldn't release these because it would pretty much expose the top players. People like skepple are absolutely clueless when it comes to this.

I don’t know. Hank Aaron used to talk about rolling his wrists over “hooking” the ball down the line. I mean you can still square a ball up even if your top hand rolls over too early.

Keep my name out your mouth, there’s no conspiracy, the top players live all over North America, they don’t all live in the same spot, I’ve never seen someone so committed to “this game is out to get me” but hey 3 years going on strong of saying the same stuff! Keep up the great work, maybe one day you’ll hit that top 50 when there’s only 55 people playing with the same ping.

Well, since the top players live ALL over North America, that pretty much tells me that they are not close to the servers because there are not that many server locations.
Maybe some day they will put in ping indicators and do ping match making and your stellar record will be a distant memory. You and a lot of top players would disappear just like a fart in the wind.

That is why I said maybe. I don't have access to the numbers. Possibly things could stay the same. I doubt it but possible. I suspect your game plays every time like mine did the first two games Saturday. Felt like I was playing a 5 year old which wasn't the case. Just someone on the bad side of connection. Been on the receiving end of this also. Nothing you can do.
Good ping to me? I would say <50. I would actually really be curious what top players ping to Show servers. I have said before, even though I have fiber, it could be on my end. I would like to know these numbers for several different reasons. One of which being how is my connection. If it is bad, why? Bottleneck, bad routing protocol? I have my suspicions but that doesn't mean it is correct. I would need the numbers. Actually, with ping indicators and ping match making, the Show would actually run better for everyone. If you don't think a game with two people pinging at 50 is much better than one at 25 and one at 250, I don't know what to tell you.
I still think connections are main issue in the fielding, pitching and hitting (especially good/okay) problems in the game. They code this game and test in house with perfect connections. The game probably works pretty flawless in these conditions. Then you run it out to the public putting people with different connections against each other. I think this is where you get the most issues. These people have been doing this game and coding for years. They are not dumb, they just are not factoring in the connection differences of their consumers. Ping indicators and ping match making would solve this. There is a reason almost every game these days has at least one of these. It is to make a better experience for their customers. For some reason, SDS does not.

Ping ping ping ping ping
Well, since the top players live ALL over North America, that pretty much tells me that they are not close to the servers because there are not that many server locations.
Maybe some day they will put in ping indicators and do ping match making and your stellar record will be a distant memory. You and a lot of top players would disappear just like a fart in the wind.
Or... things would stay the same because your conspiracy theory is just that, a conspiracy theory. What’s a good ping according to you? I have great ping but I’ll run a test on mine right now just to prove you wrong.
My ping right now is 21

My ping right now is 21
I didn't know there is a way to ping the show servers? Can you tell me how you did that, I'd love to test that as well.
There isn't, I was being facetious..
Gotcha.

Clearly Demise is the #1 player in this game and the only reason the leaderboards don't reflect that is because the game is against him, and ping, and conspiracies, and... and... like 10 other different excuses because he's that arrogant to think that someone out there could be better at him than something.

Packet sniffer like WireShark would probably work. You would probably need that to find the IP address and then traceroute to that IP address to see the ping.
