For the May 8th update, do any "big" LS diamonds go down?
-
Trout 85 -> 88/89
Just bought Trout to complete the Angels for this very reason. As long as he's healthy knocks on wood he can still be an upper tier player
-
Hear me out, I say they make Max Muncy at least an 85 diamond, this dude is a demon at the plate. I would have said the same thing for Andy Pages, but he's in a batting slump. Therefore, I think he will get downgraded from 82 gold to 79 silver. Also make Justin Wrobleski atleast an 81 gold, if more than that, I think maximum overall target should be 86 diamond. Justin has just been the new Tarik Skubal except he doesn't prioritize velocity.
Wroblewski is gonna be tough to go gold. His metrics are not all that great, has a decent BB and Barrel rate. Whiff and k rate are awful. By no means am I saying he will regress, but I am not sure SDS will take him gold based on the metrics.

Yordan is already up to 55k, ugh
-
@LIONED-33_XBL only really rough guesses are the Mets this would bring the nl east from 2 90+ players to 0 if I’m not forgetting anything they won’t do that.
-
Maybe, in his last 69 abs he is batting .261/.312, 0 HR 5 BB, 14K...not too convinced on him. Maybe to an 84
Muncy has good numbers, trending up. Metrics are great, except whiff and K%. .333/.452 in last 60 abats .284/.390 overall 9 homers, 20BB
Maybe not diamond but should see a nice bump
-
@LIONED-33_XBL Curious where you think Trout is getting an upgrade? Contact both sides and clutch look like a downgrade. Not much room for power v right upgrade. Only 2 of his 11 HR are v left. He deserves a downgrade. Should have not been a diamond in the first place IMO, but he always gets the glaze per 9 boost, so who knows.
-
@Wilbs715_XBL I wasn’t saying Pages would be diamond. Just saying he’s going up. 84 seems right. Also didn’t say Muncy wasn’t go up. Simply saying there’s zero chance he’s going diamond.

I think he hits 84 tops
-
@Sarge1387_PSN Pages? Agree. Muncy won’t be close to 84.
-
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this is what SDS uses for attributes:
Contact - BA & K%
Power - ISO & HR%
Vision - BB% & K%So for Pages, his BA is way up, but so is his BABIP (.382 way above league average and way over last years number so people assume he’ll regress to the mean). He may get a bump up in contact but his K% is also up so it won’t be much.
His ISO is flat at .187 and his HR% is actually down.
Walks are up so maybe an uptick to vision but again, his K% is also up.
I think they’ll bump him up 1 possibly 2 but I don’t see him going diamond.
Muncy is intriguing, his BA is waaay up and his BABIP at .316 is slightly above league avg (.295). His BB% and K% are a touch worse than last year but not far off from career avg. His ISO and HR% are up so his power is off to a better start. He’s not going diamond but could be upgraded to a low gold.
Take my analysis with a grain of salt, especially since SDS does wonky things sometimes with upgrades that surprise even the most veteran attribute investors.
-
So for Pages, his BA is way up
But you can't always strictly go by the overall number. His live series card already has elite contact numbers against lefties at 105 when I last pulled data. I can't see that being upgraded much if at all. (I also don't know if that 105 is being helped by inside edge)
However his Contact vs R should get a very good bump as he is hitting them way, way better this year.
I can't judge the other categories as cleanly. So he will go up but it is a matter of how much are they willing to bump that CON R
But remember contact and power is split into vs R and Vs L so overall numbers on their own can be misleading in some cases.
-
Oh and Max will go up his Con L attribute is only 25 but so far he is hitting .333 against them. I expect he will get a large boost but probably not diamond.
Boost of 5 or more OVR in a single update is a very rare occurrence.
-
@SavageSteve74_PSN Never heard of K% factoring into contact. Never heard of BABIP factoring into anything. Never heard of ISO factoring in either. I could be wrong. You also have to break it down by side. I’m expecting a significant upgrade in contact v right and clutch. Power looks about even to me. Maybe a slight downgrade. I agree with +1-2.
-
@Dolenz_PSN He’s batting .400 with RISP. Clutch boost.
-

The only attribute that should matter:
-
This year - .324 vs RHP, .333 vs LHP
2025 - .258 vs RHP, .313 vs LHPSo yeah, probably a bump in contact vs RHP
2026 ISO & HR% - .152 & 3.8% vs RHP, .220 & 3.3% vs LHP
2025 - .144 & 2.7% vs RHP, .240 & 5% vs LHPMaybe a slight bump in power vs LHP but I don’t think it would be much.
-
@Dolenz_PSN He’s batting .400 with RISP. Clutch boost.
I did not look at that. Based on that stat it should be boosted. How much? Who knows.
Really, as usual, am mainly looking forward to see what happens with the Cardinals players.
Jordan Walker is a 67 overall. I know he will probably be one of the biggest upgrades this coming update but it is not like I believe he is going to be bumped all the way to silver.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Oh I think he’ll definitely get silver. He’s going to get big boosts across the board. My expectation is high silver with a shot at 80.
-
I am not sure I have ever seen a double digit OVR boost in a single update before.
But I hope you are right
-
@Dolenz_PSN Several commons got double digit increases in the first roster update last year. Soderstrom is a good example similar to Walker’s situation. He got +10 from 65. Walker has been significantly better than what he did. Okert got +13. So did Shane Smith.
