This game is way too hard for beginners
-
I play on Nintendo switch and don't have a problem with hitting, even my 10 year old nephew played this game with my settings and wasn't complaining about how hard it was to hit. That's with me using zone hitting with the PCI and he had no problem at all
Yeah but were you beating him with a club while your nephew played?
-
@theblindrhino_psn nope, he asked me to let him play so I agreed and he actually had fun too lol

So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know...

LOL this post is wild. Rookie and Veteran is too hard!!??? Sounds like a user issue. Keep practicing or find another game that fits your level and mental capacity. There are no shortcuts (unless you cheat) maybe get a game modifier and hit homeruns every time. But dumbing the game down to fit you isn't the answer. I have a feeling this was a trolling post, nonetheless get in the lab and practice.

Dude not everyone knows what you're saying lol

@GoozeFn_PSN
It’s very likely that it’s the whole power creep thing that I’m not using 99s like I do at the end of the year in previous editions. I’d be willing to accept that. However, me swinging late and balls out of the zone are greater this year. If I’m getting slower in my old age, i can accept that. But all the balls out of the zone ARE happening more when it didn’t in ’25. just trying to put a finger on the problem. -
@sbchamps17_NSW
Don’t engage with trolls. We were doing so good ignoring this guy. They just monitor threads like this to be cruel. Just say no! -
@markemark_NSW People said this at the beginning of last year too. I don’t see it.

If you’re right, then it’s the power creep thing. -
A couple of things…..
One, mention that the game on rookie/vet is hard and the “get gud” crowd appears!!
Two, one of the biggest issues (IMO) is that conquest on vet, DQ on vet, moments on vet, vs CPU on vet, and Showdown on vet all play differently!! Instead of making them all play “the same”, SDS tweaks sliders in each mode. What they should do is have all the modes on the same level play “the same” and simply add higher rated cards if they want a mode to be more difficult.

This is accurate. It’s all about the difficulty sliders they’ve programmed in. Even on rookie - diamond quest plays way different than conquest. Way way different
-
@jenkinmeyer_psn yup! Just the other day, played JR conquest and struggled on vet (even lost a game) before finishing. Low scoring games. With my “God squad”.
Followed that up with a vs CPU game in Coors with a bunch of Topps now and NGL and rookie cards to finish JR XP. On vet. Put up 20 runs.
Much, much, much different games.
-
The only difference I see between this year is CPU lays off the outside slider/circle change more.
There was a change made last year I feel to make the CPU pitch better. They do a LOT of low pitches which are the toughest IMO to not get fooled on. They also attack the outside corner as well. Further, I feel Commons and bronze have way too much break and control.

Diamond Dynasty is not meant for beginners and SDS would also prefer that most people in the mode play online for the majority of the time.
Also, if you play with timing or directional hitting it gets a lot easier when the 99s that don't have flaws come out. Would I prefer that Rookie mode be easier for my old and declining reflexes? Yes. Does it benefit SDS to make it that way? No.
-
One other factor worth considering:
Anyone who's been playing for more than a month was used to running out all-99 lineups. Now that the season has re-started, there's a lot more golds and (dare I say) silvers being used. Maybe, just maybe, the fact you haven't rebuilt the super-team yet is why it seems harder than it did just a few months ago.
-
@markemark_NSW oh ok my apologies but imo 26 is way easier then 25 the amount of bloop hits u get this year is crazy. This year as the “worse” player u can still win as last year the better player won 95 percent of the time this year is literally a coin toss as to who wins.
I agree with your assessment 100%. The gameplay is much better than last year. Not remotely close to good but better. Maybe from an F to a D+ or C-. There are other things in this game that plague it worse than being able to hit or pitch this year. Quite honestly when I played events it wasn't all that bad, I got my Biz card my 2 Jackie Robinson packs and said deuces.

@theblindrhino_psn I'm pretty surprised that you don't even understand what he said. If opinions are offending you, ignore them. It cannot be that deep that you have to drag on the conversation. Get over it.

Anyone who quotes Lebowski understands more than you know

Stop right there. Why should playing with legends flashbacks tons of other baseball players be gated by “you’re not good enough to use these legends you scrub” sort of mentality
People that play offline or in franchise and game modes you don’t enjoy shouldn’t have to engage in this [censored]. They’d like to play say, WBC with the WBC players without having to be railroaded into the gacha system.
Whether you suck or not at something shouldn’t exclude you from content
Some people would love to play franchise with the new cards and vast assortment of players. Let them, what is the harm?

Some people would love to play franchise with the new cards and vast assortment of players.
They can, they're called the Free Agents, Mid-Century Groundbreakers, Expansion Era Boomers, and Long Ball Beasts.
I am not sure you know this, even if it has been in the game for over a decade now.
