    @markemark_NSW Ok now it all makes sense. Switch is incredibly difficult on any level. I don’t think there’s anything that can help. This game plays very different between switch and ps5/xbox.

    @BuddyHightower_XBL

    I love the it’s baseball excuse to cover every flaw in this game. Point being rookie and veteran should be easier hitting and far less super dotting and web gem plays. Hinting your pitch is fine but shouldn’t have to work a 3-2 count every at bat on rookie just to play the game. It doesn’t have to be meatball vs super dotting there can be a middle ground that makes playing far more enjoyable and learning the game mechanics far more digestible.

    That doesn’t surprise me about the switch, but it still doesn’t explain the fall off for me since’25. using the switch is all I know, and it’s distinctly harder this year for me on those two easy levels. and what about the other people who say the levels are too hard? I don’t think we were all switch users.

    I do appreciate your responses. And I wasn’t saying you were trolling, but that trolls are making appearances in threads like this one just to make fun of other players.

    The biggest issue I have with the Rookie and Veteran is how inconsistent they are. One game they pitch meatballs middle/middle and you hit 20 nukes. They next game they are dotting pitches with a common/low bronze, throwing sinker cheese over and over, and in the field they have super speed and super jump to rob base hits. Most don't want batting practice or a sweaty cpu experience, they want something in between...consistency. It's really not that hard to ask for or deliver.

    @markemark_NSW I’ve been playing this game every year for most of the year. It’s really the only game I play. I have a good read on it and I haven’t noticed any difference at all. What makes me skeptical, is every single year someone says this. Almost every update, people say this, even when no gameplay changes have been made. This is the first time in a few years I haven’t played on Switch though.

    I play on Nintendo switch and don't have a problem with hitting, even my 10 year old nephew played this game with my settings and wasn't complaining about how hard it was to hit. That's with me using zone hitting with the PCI and he had no problem at all

    Yeah but were you beating him with a club while your nephew played?

    So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know...

    LOL this post is wild. Rookie and Veteran is too hard!!??? Sounds like a user issue. Keep practicing or find another game that fits your level and mental capacity. There are no shortcuts (unless you cheat) maybe get a game modifier and hit homeruns every time. But dumbing the game down to fit you isn't the answer. I have a feeling this was a trolling post, nonetheless get in the lab and practice.

    @GoozeFn_PSN
    It’s very likely that it’s the whole power creep thing that I’m not using 99s like I do at the end of the year in previous editions. I’d be willing to accept that. However, me swinging late and balls out of the zone are greater this year. If I’m getting slower in my old age, i can accept that. But all the balls out of the zone ARE happening more when it didn’t in ’25. just trying to put a finger on the problem.

    Don’t engage with trolls. We were doing so good ignoring this guy. They just monitor threads like this to be cruel. Just say no!

    @markemark_NSW People said this at the beginning of last year too. I don’t see it.

    A couple of things…..

    One, mention that the game on rookie/vet is hard and the “get gud” crowd appears!!

    Two, one of the biggest issues (IMO) is that conquest on vet, DQ on vet, moments on vet, vs CPU on vet, and Showdown on vet all play differently!! Instead of making them all play “the same”, SDS tweaks sliders in each mode. What they should do is have all the modes on the same level play “the same” and simply add higher rated cards if they want a mode to be more difficult.

    This is accurate. It’s all about the difficulty sliders they’ve programmed in. Even on rookie - diamond quest plays way different than conquest. Way way different

    @jenkinmeyer_psn yup! Just the other day, played JR conquest and struggled on vet (even lost a game) before finishing. Low scoring games. With my “God squad”.

    Followed that up with a vs CPU game in Coors with a bunch of Topps now and NGL and rookie cards to finish JR XP. On vet. Put up 20 runs.

    Much, much, much different games.

    The only difference I see between this year is CPU lays off the outside slider/circle change more.

    There was a change made last year I feel to make the CPU pitch better. They do a LOT of low pitches which are the toughest IMO to not get fooled on. They also attack the outside corner as well. Further, I feel Commons and bronze have way too much break and control.

    Diamond Dynasty is not meant for beginners and SDS would also prefer that most people in the mode play online for the majority of the time.

    Also, if you play with timing or directional hitting it gets a lot easier when the 99s that don't have flaws come out. Would I prefer that Rookie mode be easier for my old and declining reflexes? Yes. Does it benefit SDS to make it that way? No.
