Soto’s out, Lindor’s starting slow again, Bo Bichette’s swing decisions are even worse than usual, Carson Benge isn’t that guy yet, Mark Vientos isn’t that guy (and Jared Young, who was playing well over him, got hurt), Marcus Semien’s bat is and has been cooked, Polanco’s hurt again, Brett Baty’s swinging at everything for some reason, Luis Robert’s being load managed, Tyrone Taylor’s basically never been a good major league hitter, I can think of a few ways this could’ve happened. At least the pitching staff did their job today.

More here, if you're okay with a relatively measured/analytical/maybe even optimistic perspective: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/no-offense-the-new-look-mets-are-in-quite-a-skid/

Too much money without results equal too much pressure.
The Dodgers and their wealth is like the 1990's Yankees wealth, best case scenario with unlimited funds.
The Mets and their wealth is like the 1980's Yankees, worst-case scenario with same.
Hard to believe those 80's Yankees were the best of the decade in MLB.
Still plenty time for the Mets to turn things around for 2026 and 2020's, but they better do it quickly.

As a Jays fan, this brings a slight smile to my face.

Ok...maybe more like the the Zack Galifianakis laugh:
