These aren’t legends.
-
they simply won’t add.
None of us know with 100% certainty why they aren't in the game. I don't personally think SDS is just excluding them to spite the fans.
-
@NWOStunna_PSN I don’t think it’s as much them not being able too I think it’s more them not wanting to because of off field drama involving the players u listed as a baseball fan I would love to see them in the game but i think it’s realistic
-
Don’t think ^
-
A. SDS can't put a player in if the player doesn't want to be in.
B. SDS can't put a player in if they're on the exempt list. (I know Rose may or may not still be on the list, but I'm pretty sure SDS doesn't want to be the first MLB-affiliated organization to let him back in the fold.)
C. SDS spaces out their legends so they have at least 1 "big one" per year. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have next year's "big get" (DiMaggio? Arod? Ichiro? Bo?) already lined up for 27. -
@SaveFarris_PSN they almost definitely do and those listed are much more realistic
-
Yes, I’m sure Barry Bonds is absolutely distraught he’s not in a video game.
Bonds does not give a [censored] about not being in the game. You’re thinking like a Gen Z. -
@Busta-21_XBL Barry definitely doesn’t care he would probably try to make his own video game before giving his rights to sds
-
@Dolenz_PSN
Then you’re assuming as much as anyone lol. If you’re being subjective, I don’t think Tulowitzki moves the needle for hardly anyone. If that’s the big legend reveal they were saving then I’m genuinely surprised and it will be the first year in as long as I can remember that I’m not in on this game at the outset. -
@NWOStunna_PSN
While I would love to have these guys in the game, Pete Rose is a very dubious character to put in the game and I dont think MLB would want them to do that, and Bonds would sell his soul to the devil before he would sell his rights to a video game. I dont really see any issue with adding DiMaggio or Cobb, I would love to see them added -
Didn't Ty Cobb used to be in the game? Idk why they removed him.
Even when he was active, it was hard to get Barry Bonds to be in videogames, so he's probably a tricky one to get the rights for. And Pete Rose obviously has a very controversial history.
That being said, Troy Tulowitzki being the best card in the game is kind of laughable. I'm a bit surprised they couldn't find somebody better than him to be the best card. I'm happy he's back in the game, but he's probably the worst headliner-type player I can remember them releasing and promoting this much.

Yep, Barry has no interest in being in a video game.

The most demanded guys are either in or have been recently and/or will be back in the coming years. There are exceptions, of course, but there’s not many left that could be “new” except recent retirees like Ichiro that would move the needle.
For every big name not included for various reasons, there’s 5 that are there.
If next year or the one after the Babe goes away, you’ll have newer players btching that they never have true legends like Babe.
-
I'm pretty sure Bonds withdrew from the mlbpa and copyrighted his name and likeness.
-
I'd still love to see them troll him with a legend Reggie Stocker card

That's the issue. Babe being in the game for a decade, going away for 2-3 years, then being hyped up as a NEW LEGEND.
