Welp, stadium vault isn't carrying over to 2026

If they have no new features my stadium will look exactly the same after the long tedious process of rebuilding it.

Even though my brain tells me I know this is exactly how it goes...that wonderful youthful optimist in me is wondering if there really is a different format or some different tools to work with that would cause programming clashes...but like Prior said it's hope for the best and plan for the worst.
I'll personally be fairly cheesed if we not only not get the tools and simple QoL stuff we've been asking for, but also have to re-build everything we've done over the past couple years.

Perhaps. It would be great to be able to edit foul territory and have more tools but I'm a guy who builds one stadium and then I play hundreds of games in franchise - manage mode. If it's the exact same tool box it's just a tedious exercise to try to end up where I am now.
-
Honestly good riddance cause I want to keep my stadiums but if it whatever that lagrassa eye bleach is, do it!

If it's the exact same tool box it's just a tedious exercise to try to end up where I am now.I get this. Not every person desires to spend the time needed to customize the entire stadium wall layout. But, isn't there attraction to downloading a precisely accurate stadium of the first ballparks to feature walls in the outfield and down the baselines, and play them in Exhibition, or RTTS, or Franchise games? You'd be amazed what a difference this makes in how baseball plays out.
You start to figure out real quick why players like Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb hit like they did. The ability to hit line drives was so critical as if you hit a fly ball, no matter how hard, it was going to get caught for an out. There is no other option for people living in 2026 (or last year) to experience that historic reality, except to play it out in a video game.
I don't see how a company that has a sole source contract with MLB could turn their backs on this option. I used the wall option to create highly accurate stadiums that the original Cincinnati Red Stockings played in -- the world's first professional baseball team, and the team that became the Boston, then Milwaukee, then Atlanta Braves. For added value, I created the first park that the fledgling Boston Braves played in and it is a seriously different stadium experience, but it is totally accurate.
So, SDS turned that option off for MLB 26. I sincerely hope SDS gets sent a sharp message. They certainly deserved it, and I anticipated what SDS would do, which is why I already made it known I won't be purchasing any future release of MLB The Show.

If I buy MLBTS26 I have to throw away my franchise and my stadium and start from scratch. I'm leaning against buying the new version unless gameplay has significantly improved but I wouldn't know that for sure unless I buy the game.

Just wait and check out the early reviews from people who get the early access. Probably the best thing to do if you're on the fence about it.

The people with early access tend to be promoting the game as much as anything else and I have not seen one who uses manage mode as evidenced by the fact they never mention the long standing bugs in manage mode and the new bugs that mysteriously arrive each year. I'll probably watch a video but I won't know for sure unless I buy the game.

This is a good thing. The vault needed a complete reset. There's WAY too many Costco's, stadium row complex, hrd derby and others. Not to mention lagrassa is FINALLY gone. Maybe SDS will use this as a way to finally not only update SC but make the vault easier to navigate. All the other vaults have easy navigation except SC

The good news is someone at SDS is working on something related to stadiums.

I have to correct that a slight bit. The good news is if someone at SDS is working to make Stadium Creator better. And they have had five years to do that and have so far refused to do so. So, I see no logical reason to believe they will now.

You are probably right but there is a glimmer of hope. They aren't completely ignoring it. Perhaps the reason stadiums don't carry over is to clear space for the new developments.
-
@sullivanspring_MLBTS I'm almost 100% certain the reason stadiums aren't carrying over is because of Lagrasa
-
It is an obvious reason for sure but I think it is a combination on that stadium and the antiquated vault mechanics.
Somebody uploads a stadium like that and 4 or 5 thousand people download it. Even if you delete every instance in the vault those people are just going to upload it again because it is saved on their console and the game will tell them to upload it again to be able to use it.
They need a better vault setup and better content matching so that once a item is banned and deleted then the system can automatically detect all other copies and prevent it from being uploaded again under a different name.

Changes are being made. Perhaps that will be a positive development. Perhaps not. As a longtime franchise user that is not unexpected.

I wish I could share you optimism…and forgive me for not doing so…but as a seasoned Creator I’m not holding my breath until explicitly told otherwise
-
@Sarge1387_PSN yea I'm not expecting anything, just hoping. At least in 24 we got 2 decent prop packs. I didn't care for the futuristic one much

Don’t even get me started on that futuristic one…that was such a disappointment
