Its because of the glitched stadium so that custom stadium can actually be used online againThat's the reason, folks. Do not expect anything to improve Stadium Creator. It will remain the same deliberately dumbed down product it has been. Yes, this means the cheat stadiums cannot be used in MLB 26. But, it also means neither can the vastly larger number of honest stadiums like Ebbets Field, Milwaukee County Stadium, and so many others with accurate wall layouts.
The ONLY reason SDS will keep SC is to provide an option for custom stadiums in DD online play. SDS does not wish to see SC used to create historically accurate stadiums from the past for folks to use in offline modes like RTTS or Franchise.
-
Saw this coming a mile away. The vault could use a refresh anyway. Hopefully we get some updates or upgrades throughout the year!

Sarge,
Ponder this ...
Remember a few days back when you got Joe @ SDS to actually reply, where he said he had nothing "concrete" to share with regard to the future of Stadium Creator?
Well, this is that "concrete" answer, and it's likely going to be the ONLY one anyone receives.
That's the truth, folks! No matter how reasonable, logical, ethical, or necessary it truly is for SDS to get off their snide and give SC the way overdue TLC it deserves, it isn't happening. SDS has proven through their previous actions what they think of this mode. In their minds, SC exists merely to give DD players another cheap and drab sandbox to play online related games in -- to grind more.
After further thought, I will add more.
We saw the option to move all the wall panels as a huge boon to allow us to customize the basic layout of stadiums. For us, it was immediately seen as a long overdue chance to perfectly replicate historic baseball venues, again like Ebbets Field or even Ponce de Leon Park. It was an exciting option, one longed for and asked for.
But, for SDS, it was an undesired interruption of their strategic plans to keep SC captured and stymied so that it was never anything more than a cookie cutter stadium option for people to customize in very limited ways to grind out points and achievements in online DD game play.
The idea of using MLB The Show to create stadiums reaching into the history of the game was never desired. It was an interruption of their plans. Their malice and how they handled the moving walls option proved all that beyond reasonable doubt.
People who love baseball embrace using Stadium Creator to create historic ballparks so that people can use the offline game modes to experience playing baseball in stadiums that reach back to the birth of the game. People who love money hate that idea and do all they can to destroy it! Even, sadly true, if destroying means leaving the back door open to a cheat stadium that angers their DD players. This was SDS's plan the whole time -- tamp back down the wall move option and then kill the vault for MLB 26 that was already in production.
That tightened up their tidy world for online play and post sales income strategy. Again, in their world MLB The Show is merely a role playing shooter game using baseballs vice ammunition.

Not specifically about the Stadium Creator but it my hope that they have redone the whole vault system.
I have never understood the point where, If I download a logo or stadium and make no modifications to it, that I still have to upload it again before I can use it. It is why the vaults are impossible to browse. There are hundreds, if not thousands of duplicated items in the vault.
They should also have a way to ban a stadium or logo and have the system automatically flag every duplicated one in the vault and also stop it from being uploaded anymore. Something other than name of course. It would make the vault much more usable, browsable, smaller and easier to police.

My eye twitched just reading that, I agree that's gotta be one of the dumbest things about the current vault

Once again, agreed. It's annoying as all getout

If they have no new features my stadium will look exactly the same after the long tedious process of rebuilding it.

Even though my brain tells me I know this is exactly how it goes...that wonderful youthful optimist in me is wondering if there really is a different format or some different tools to work with that would cause programming clashes...but like Prior said it's hope for the best and plan for the worst.
I'll personally be fairly cheesed if we not only not get the tools and simple QoL stuff we've been asking for, but also have to re-build everything we've done over the past couple years.

Perhaps. It would be great to be able to edit foul territory and have more tools but I'm a guy who builds one stadium and then I play hundreds of games in franchise - manage mode. If it's the exact same tool box it's just a tedious exercise to try to end up where I am now.
-
Honestly good riddance cause I want to keep my stadiums but if it whatever that lagrassa eye bleach is, do it!

If it's the exact same tool box it's just a tedious exercise to try to end up where I am now.I get this. Not every person desires to spend the time needed to customize the entire stadium wall layout. But, isn't there attraction to downloading a precisely accurate stadium of the first ballparks to feature walls in the outfield and down the baselines, and play them in Exhibition, or RTTS, or Franchise games? You'd be amazed what a difference this makes in how baseball plays out.
You start to figure out real quick why players like Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb hit like they did. The ability to hit line drives was so critical as if you hit a fly ball, no matter how hard, it was going to get caught for an out. There is no other option for people living in 2026 (or last year) to experience that historic reality, except to play it out in a video game.
I don't see how a company that has a sole source contract with MLB could turn their backs on this option. I used the wall option to create highly accurate stadiums that the original Cincinnati Red Stockings played in -- the world's first professional baseball team, and the team that became the Boston, then Milwaukee, then Atlanta Braves. For added value, I created the first park that the fledgling Boston Braves played in and it is a seriously different stadium experience, but it is totally accurate.
So, SDS turned that option off for MLB 26. I sincerely hope SDS gets sent a sharp message. They certainly deserved it, and I anticipated what SDS would do, which is why I already made it known I won't be purchasing any future release of MLB The Show.

If I buy MLBTS26 I have to throw away my franchise and my stadium and start from scratch. I'm leaning against buying the new version unless gameplay has significantly improved but I wouldn't know that for sure unless I buy the game.

Just wait and check out the early reviews from people who get the early access. Probably the best thing to do if you're on the fence about it.

The people with early access tend to be promoting the game as much as anything else and I have not seen one who uses manage mode as evidenced by the fact they never mention the long standing bugs in manage mode and the new bugs that mysteriously arrive each year. I'll probably watch a video but I won't know for sure unless I buy the game.

This is a good thing. The vault needed a complete reset. There's WAY too many Costco's, stadium row complex, hrd derby and others. Not to mention lagrassa is FINALLY gone. Maybe SDS will use this as a way to finally not only update SC but make the vault easier to navigate. All the other vaults have easy navigation except SC

I have to correct that a slight bit. The good news is if someone at SDS is working to make Stadium Creator better. And they have had five years to do that and have so far refused to do so. So, I see no logical reason to believe they will now.

You are probably right but there is a glimmer of hope. They aren't completely ignoring it. Perhaps the reason stadiums don't carry over is to clear space for the new developments.
